Neopolen E Designed for New Ideas. e
Neopolen E is a closed-cell, physically crosslinked polyethylene particle foam (EPE) and it is supplied in the form of boards in various thicknesses in both black and white. Thanks to its excellent processability and its wide-ranging properties, Neopolen E is suitable for a broad range of applications. Neopolen E. Delivers outstanding cushioning properties to everybody. 2
+ 90 C Environment & recycling Neopolen E contains no halogenated hydrocarbons or compounds containing lead, cadmium, mercury or chromium Neopolen E does not contain any watersoluble substances and is thus rated in water-hazard class 0, i. e. it is not hazardous to water Neopolen E is not known to serve as a source of food for animals or as a substrate for mold or bacteria Neopolen E is environmentally friendly and can be recycled by a variety of methods: Neopolen E material can be recycled to make new products, e. g. drainage sheets Special processes can be used to granulate and compact Neopolen E and recycle it as secondary material Raw material recycling allows Neopolen E to be converted back into the original materials Owing to its physical crosslinking, Neopolen E exhibits outstanding fogging values Because of its high calorific value, energetic utilization of Neopolen E is also feasible - 70 C No separation of the foam skin required (no use of separating agent) Very low emissions (FOG/VOC values) owing to physical crosslinking Very low water absorption Very good resistance to chemicals Stable over a wide temperature range Ideal cushioning properties for sensitive surfaces Tested for harmful substances according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Outstanding cushioning properties Low weight Good cushioning effect High temperature resistance and virtually constant elasticity and flexibility Low water absorption and water vapor permeability Good heat insulating properties Good chemical resistance Very good processability
Applications Packaging Because of their pronounced elastic deformability, energy absorption during deformation and excellent mechanical properties, foams made of Neopolen E are particularly suitable for transport packaging. Automotive engineering The crosslinking of Neopolen E foams allows them to be readily thermoformed. Thermoformed Neopolen E parts are highly resistant to chemicals, have excellent fogging values (due to the physical crosslinking), and can be used over a wide temperature range. Expansion pads Neopolen E s outstanding elastic recovery and low water absorption mean that it lends itself very well to the production of expansion pads to accommodate changes in length that occur in underground pipeline systems. Expansion pads made of Neopolen E are not hazardous to water, do not support mold growth and are resistant to rot. Opel Insignia OPC, photo: Adam Opel AG Sport and leisure Neopolen E is an ideal core material for sports mats, as it offers outstanding dynamic elastic recovery, optimal energy absorption and low weight. Thanks to its cross-linking, Neopolen E retains its shape even when subjected to repeated severe dynamic stress and is very durable, in contrast to noncrosslinked foams.
