NZQF NQ Ref 1188 Version 3 Page 2 of 11 National Certificate in Agriculture (Production Management) with strands in Arable Farming, Cattle Farming, Dairy Farming, Deer Farming, and Sheep Farming Level 4 or 5 depending on strand Credits 72-88 Purpose This qualification is for people who have, or wish to undertake, a role where they are responsible for agricultural production. People may already have significant industry experience prior to entry and may therefore be credited with a proportion of this qualification. The qualification is stranded to allow people to specialise in one or more of the agricultural sectors - arable farming, beef farming, dairy farming, deer farming, and sheep farming. The skills and knowledge required for each of the strands are specific to that particular agricultural production sector. The Core Compulsory section recognises the skills and knowledge required to develop production management action plans and analyse results, identify and analyse high performance in agribusiness productivity, and manage a feed budget to meet agribusiness production targets. This qualification builds on the knowledge and skills in, and shares many of the strandspecific credits with, the National Certificate in Agriculture (Level 4) with strands in Arable Farming, Beef Cattle Farming, Dairy Farming, Deer Farming, and Sheep Farming [Ref: 0986]. On completion of this qualification people can pathway onto other agriculture industry qualifications such as the National Certificate in Agribusiness Management (Business Planning and Financial Management) [Ref: 1186], the National Certificate in Agribusiness Management (Agribusiness Resource Management) [Ref: 1187], and the National Diploma in Agribusiness Management [Ref: 0647]. Replacement information This qualification, along with the National Certificate in Agribusiness Management (Agribusiness Resource Management) [Ref: 1187], and the National Certificate in Agribusiness Management (Business Planning and Financial Management) [Ref: 1186] replaced the National Certificate in Agribusiness Management with strands in Production Management, Business Planning, Physical Resource Management, Taxation and Risk Management, Capital Management, and Financial Planning [Ref: 0500].
