Digital Content Executive Full time, Permanent Post Closing Date: 2pm, Thursday 26 th July 2018 Visit Belfast is seeking to recruit an experienced digital marketer to join the Marketing and Communications team in the role of Digital Content Executive. Web and digital marketing is a key medium in all of Visit Belfast s marketing and communications activity, with the continual need for updated, relevant content and information to be sourced from Visit Belfast s partners which is fed through our various digital channels. Reporting to the Web and Digital Manager you will be supporting the implementation of Visit Belfast s digital marketing activity, leading to the achievement of set objectives and targets, promoting Belfast as a top European tourism destination in line with the marketing strategy and objectives as set out in Visit Belfast s annual Business Plan. Remuneration The salary range for this position is 20,225 to 26,390 pro rata. The entry point on the salary range for the successful candidate will normally be the minimum of the range. Location This position is based in our corporate office. Visit Belfast s corporate office and the Visit Belfast Welcome Centre (VBWC) are located at 9, Donegall Square North, Belfast, BT1 5GB. Visit Belfast also operates Visitor Information Centres (VICs) at George Best Belfast City Airport (GBBCA), Belfast International Airport (BIA) and pop up information desks off-site, for example, on-board cruise ships and at Belfast Harbour, or during conferences and events. Visit Belfast also has a satellite office in London. Hours of Work Normal hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm. Annual Leave The leave year runs from 1 January to 31 December. Annual leave entitlement is 25 days per year pro rata, with an additional 11 customary public holidays. After 5 years continual service leave entitlement will increase to 30 days per year. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Plan, create and co-ordinate engaging, inspiring and informative content for Visit Belfast s digital channels, incorporating Visit Belfast s tone of voice and brand guidelines. 2. Source, proofread, edit and write content to an excellent standard, with a focus on optimising content for a digital audience and search engines. 3. Using Visit Belfast s Content Management System, maintain the visitbelfast.com website and sub-sites, apps and interactive touchscreens including the creation and editing of product profiles, events, offers, competitions, campaigns and other visitor information, ensuring that digital best practice is followed. 4. Create engaging blog articles and themed website sections on visitbelfast.com to inspire visitors to come to Belfast and Northern Ireland. 5. Maintain and enhance the interactive touchscreens and information screens in the Visit Belfast Welcome Centre and off-site locations, ensuring information is up to date and optimised for visitors. 6. Maintain and enhance Visit Belfast s mobile apps, ensuring information is up to date and optimised for end users, and develop and implement digital marketing plans to increase number of downloads and users of Visit Belfast s mobile apps. 4

Assist with the development and implementation of content and marketing strategies and plans for the visitbelfast.com website, apps, interactive touchscreens, campaigns and other digital platforms. 8. Assist with the development and implementation of a SEO strategy for the visitbelfast.com website, with a focus on increasing organic traffic. 9. Continually analyse the effectiveness of digital content using web analytics tools such as Google Analytics, and make improvements based on data analysis. 10. Continually review and optimise the user journey across Visit Belfast s website, apps, interactive touchscreens and other digital platforms. 11. Liaise with bloggers, industry partners and other third parties to develop and create content for Visit Belfast s digital channels including user generated content. 12. Liaise with the Commercial and Partnership Team to ensure that Visit Belfast partners are promoted across Visit Belfast s website, interactive touchscreens, apps and other digital platforms in line with their partnership tier package. 13. Assist the Digital Marketing Executive with the management and development of Visit Belfast s email marketing activity, when required. 14. Assist the Digital Marketing Executive with the management and development of Visit Belfast s social media platforms, when required. 15. Monitor and reply to partner and visitor queries in a timely and professional manner. 16. Communicate effectively with other Visit Belfast departments to ensure integrated activity across the organisation. 17. Support the wider Marketing and Communications team in the development and maintenance of effective commercial and working relationships with Visit Belfast s partners, sponsors and the industry as appropriate. 18. PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION: DIGITAL CONTENT EXECUTIVE Qualifications Relevant Experience Special Aptitudes Circumstances Essential Criteria Degree level qualification, or equivalent, (i.e. Bachelor s Degree with Honours, Bachelor s Degree etc.) in a relevant discipline. Minimum 2 years of experience working in a digital, marketing, communication or content creation related discipline. Minimum 2 years of experience writing, editing and optimising content for websites and other digital or marketing platforms. Excellent writing, proofreading and content editing skills. Minimum 1 year of experience using Content Management Systems. Minimum 1 year of experience using image editing software such as Photoshop. Experience of using Microsoft Office packages. Strong digital marketing and communication skills. Analytical, planning and organisational skills. Monitoring and evaluation skills. Fully IT literate and Internet experienced.
