Ashfield Building Group Health and Safety Statement STATEMENT DESCRIBE THE ORGANISATION We are skilled in all major building projects from property alteration, major extensions and comprehensive refurbishments, new builds, commercial building renovations, office and apartment conversions and industrial unit construction. Over the last 20 years, Ashfield Building Group has grown into one of the most successful privatelyowned SME construction groups in the Yorkshire region. Over the time we have honed our skills regarding efficiencies, competitive tender returns and comprehensive cost quotations and are very proud of our unparalleled health and safety record. RESOURCES TO SAFEGUARD THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR OPERATIONS Ashfield Building Group regard the promotion of health and safety measures as an integral part of our framework and why we are so proud of our company s zero accidents or health and safety enforcements record. Our health and safety policies and procedures are accredited through CHAS and Constructionline. Additionally, the company is currently in the process of attaining certification to ISO 45001, which is an internationally recognised standard designed to improve employee safety, reduce workplace risk and create better, safer working conditions, all over the world. To achieve this aim, both management and employees actively work together to comply with the following goals: Accidents and incidents at work will be minimised through the promotion of high safety standards. Continuous liaison and communication between management and employees to facilitate the safety review process. Risk assessments of health and safety issues will be applied to all existing work activities and also when planning new work processes or activities. Safety will be included on the agenda of all Company business meetings. A continuous program of health and safety inspections to assist in detecting and eliminating unsafe practices and conditions.

Ashfield Building Group acknowledges and accepts its statutory responsibility under the terms of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, for ensuring the Health, Safety and Welfare of all its employees and others affected by our undertakings. Any revisions or new legislation/regulations are effectively communicated to all relevant persons. We take steps, so far as reasonably practicable, to meet all statutory health and safety responsibilities, paying particular attention to: The provision of sufficient information, instruction, training and supervision to enable the Company s employees to avoid hazardous situations and contribute positively to their own health and safety at work. The use of suitable and sufficient risk assessment techniques to assess the health and safety risks applicable to our employees and others who may be affected by our work activities. The inclusion of health and safety into the planning, organisation, controlling, monitoring and review arrangements of our management systems. The provision and maintenance of a healthy working environment including the adequacy of welfare facilitates. The provision of safe access and egress to and from the workplace. The provision and maintenance of all buildings, plant and work equipment. The provision of adequate facilities to enable the safe handling, storage and transportation of articles and substances related to our work activities. The continued retention of access to competent advice and assistance through the support of our Health and Safety Consultant, thereby ensuring the Company is aware of statutory requirements, relevant changes in legislation and 'good practice'. As an organisation we implement robust HSE site audits, both internal and external. All our sites have monthly audits conducted by our Executive Management Team which complement each site daily and weekly health and safety checks which are undertaken by our Contract and Site Managers. Ashfield Building Group Contract Mangers hold SMSTS qualifications and CSCS cards Ashfield Building Group Site Mangers hold SSSTS qualifications and CSCS cards All of Ashfield Building Group job sites are allocated a site manager for the duration of works and is the sites trained and designated first aider.

All of Ashfield Building Groups Site Operatives hold up to date CSCS cards plus Asbestos Awareness certificates and as mandatory have basic first aid skills. SUBCONTRACTORS MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS LIST In order to improve our building contracting experience especially where health and safety is required, we have created a subcontractors minimum requirements check list that we utilise to qualify any and all subtractors that we work with and onboard to our framework, requirements are: Completed and returned Ashfield Building Groups onboarding requirements form together with all the relevant requested documentation. Valid insurance types and values. Minimum 5 years of experience in their given trade. Trading more than 24 months. Zero accidents, incidents and enforcements history. Copies of all up to date trade related health and safety accreditations. IDENTIFY THE NUMBER AND TYPE OF STAFF RESPONSIBLE FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY Number Of Staff Responsible For Health And Safety: 5 Mathew Blackburn Grad IOSH, SIIRSM, DIP RSA, AaPS Lighthouse Risk Services Ashfield Building Group Professional Health and Safety Consultant Health and Safety Manager/Health and Safety Consultant in several rolls for over 15 years including Health and Safety Advisor (Senior role since December 2017) and also on a consultancy basis. Worked within the construction industry overseeing working projects and general working activities including preparing pre-construction and construction phase safety information, site inspections and safety audits. Carrying out and organising relevant training requirements and development, preparation and implementation of company health and safety policies, ensuring that clients are aware of any changes in legislation, regulations and law. Responsible for overseeing Ashfield Building Groups legal obligations under UK Health and Safety regulation and support as the company s health and safety Competent Person obligation under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulation 1999. Simon has worked in the industry for over 25 years and for many blue-chip organisations such as Coca-Cola, Jaguar Land Rover and many more. Other clients of Simons include certification bodies such as EXOVA BM TRADA and NQA where Simon works as a lecturer and tutor across all standards as well as a UKAS approved auditor. Responsible for external third party UKAS certified audit, perspective and guidance relative to Ashfield Building Groups health and safety policies, procedures and accreditation to ISO 45001 standard.
