The role will support the achievement of British Council corporate standards and meet relevant polices/ procedures. Geopolitical/SBU/Function overview: The Middle East and North Africa is home to eight percent of the world s population, five percent of global GDP, and 58 percent of global reserves of oil and gas. It has the highest rate of youth unemployment, and double the global average for female unemployment. Collectively this is placing a huge strain on existing political, social and economic structures, adding to the uncertainty and fragility of the region. In parallel to this we continue to provide support to individuals, institutions and governments helping them address some of the underlying long-term demographic, societal and systemic features which have been holding back reform, stifling growth, and blocking opportunities for young people. As part of the Business Operations team the postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the 3 premisses in Riyadh (2 teaching centres and back office) and will line mange the Business Assistant Administrator. The role will serve the multiple SBUs located in all three premises. Main opportunities/challenges for this role: The Business Operations function has undergone a significant restructure to position it more effectively to support the rapidly changing needs of the British Council. With this, a vital part of this role is to support Country and Business management ensuring the new structure and processes are successfully embedded. The business administration coordinator role will require adaptability and durability to change, and will often support management in promoting and delivery of change. Main Accountabilities: Relationship Management, Suppliers and Services The SPOC (single point of contact) for day to day supervision of suppliers services, including but not limited to, cleaning, catering, courier. Support Business Operations with office procurement services Applies detailed understanding of methods, systems and procedures within a specific functional discipline to provide practical advice and appropriate services to internal customers Responds knowledgeably and professionally to enquiries within their discipline, to ensure internal customers receive high quality, prompt and timely service and/or advice. Refers on to others only complex enquiries, or those outside own area of expertise Risk / Information Management Coordinate office returns for audit requirements, coordinate local preparation for audit Support the business in regulating the Child Protection action plan Security Be local First Aid trainer, maintain first aid logs and ensure audit compliance is sustained.
