our people SALES & MARKETING Our Sales department is one of the key areas of the business that stands us apart from our competitors. Our Business Development Executives generate appointments for our Commercial Property Consultants, who in turn drive the front end of our business. There are Business Development teams in Manchester, Bristol and London, all encompassing the same atmosphere: fast paced, determined and vibrant. CVS is a growing company, and the Sales department encourages fast-track progression with massive earning potential across all levels. The company continuously delivers both personal and team incentives, and there is no room for anything other than a Can Do attitude. The Marketing department is based in Manchester and is responsible for the development and execution of all communication, on both an internal and external basis. CLIENT SERVICES The Client Services department provides full support to our Clients and prides itself on delivering world class service. As members of the Institute of Customer Service, we are committed to providing the best Client experience possible. Administration - are responsible for processing new contracts, appeal related correspondence and ensuring everything is processed to a very high quality standard. Client Account Management - are responsible for supporting our wide range of Clients. Each Account Manager has their own dedicated Client portfolio that they pro-actively support at every stage of the appeal process. Keeping in touch with clients on a regular basis is a key part of the role, ensuring maximum Client satisfaction and retention at all times. All teams are supported by an expert management team and all are passionate about providing a service experience that is the most professional within the industry. Coming to CVS with no previous knowledge of the rating industry was nerve-racking at first. However, after receiving in-house training and support, I felt equipped with the knowledge and confidence I needed to hit the ground running. In my second week I booked 14 appointments and generated just over 450 commission. CVS is a work hard, play hard environment that rewards success. Team incentives and nights out are a regular occurrence, but the best part of the job is the job itself. After working in B2B sales for the past five years, it is refreshing to sell a service that saves the client money without them having to pay a penny. At a time when companies are looking to save rather than spend, it s a perfect solution. MIKE AITKEN BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE Since joining CVS in 2011 as an Administrator I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience within a sector I previously had little understanding of. Within six months of joining the business I progressed to an Account Manager which entailed being responsible for a portfolio of clients. I provided support regarding their appeal, right from their initial welcome, through to conclusion. I then progressed to my current role, Retention Executive, which involves dealing with a wide range of cases which require varying levels of support. During my time within the business my success has been recognised and I have won the Service Hero award twice for exceeding targets and for my overall performance. I enjoy the daily interaction I have with clients which means I can continue to establish great working relationships with them, while instilling their confidence in CVS and our services. AMY CRISP RETENTION EXECUTIVE
DATA, IT & SYSTEMS Our Data and Systems department is based in Manchester, with some opportunities in London. The Systems department is responsible for ensuring that the company s systems and processes run smoothly and all other departments are able to continue uninhibited with their day to day duties. The Data department is the first cog in the CVS business generation wheel. Ultimately, the purpose of the team is to deliver leads to the business. This could be providing sales opportunities to our Business Development team, enhancing our in-house knowledge database, or providing additional intelligence through Special Projects for the Commercial Property Consultants who then present this information to the prospective Client. The Data department is essential to the overall functionality of our business. SURVEYOR OPERATIONS Our Surveyor Operations department consists of Surveyor Support teams in all offices (Manchester, London and Bristol) and Savings Analysts based in Manchester. The headline objective of the Surveyor Operations department is to support our national compliment of employed, freelance and partner Chartered Surveyors. Surveyor Operations is essential for our Surveyors to be able to carry out their role; assessing and valuing our clients properties, to try and achieve a business rates reduction. These key roles often involve administration support and preparation, and are therefore essential in assisting our property professionals in the delivery of our market leading service as well as revenue to the business. I started in the Data department at CVS as a Property Research Operative. I joined CVS back in October 2011 and since then I have developed numerous valuable skills and welcomed new responsibilities and development opportunities. Working at CVS is rewarding as hard work does not go unrecognised. Since I started, I have received two promotions and I am now in the role of Lead Maintenance & Project Delivery Team Leader. However, my favourite thing about working at CVS is the atmosphere. The company instils an excellent balance between professionalism and fun, and I enjoy coming to work. DARRYL NOWLAN Lead Maintenance & Project Delivery Team Leader I work in the Operations department at CVS as a Senior Savings Analyst. I started in June 2012 as an Operations Savings Analyst having previously worked as a Business Rates Officer at Manchester City Council. I have therefore been on the other side of the fence when it comes to the world of business rates liabilities. Since joining CVS I have reaped the benefits of a working environment that not only encourages excellence in every aspect of the business, but also recognises and rewards its staff when excellence is exhibited. I greatly enjoy my time in the Operations department, and have the satisfaction of achieving weekly deliverables through fluid teamwork and hard work. AARON MCLEOD SENIOR SAVINGS ANALYST
COMMERCIAL SERVICES In addition to our successful business rates and rent services, CVS can also help UK businesses save additional money on their properties. We know the UK commercial property market inside out, with expertise pertaining to all types of commercial property and relevant to all types of businesses. The continued pressure on business costs means that all expenditure has to be examined for potential savings. It is the role of our Commercial Services team to support the Client s drive to reduce their overheads through carrying out a Rating Audit and ensuring that all available allowances are claimed. Every aspect is of course conducted in a professional and client focused manner. FINANCE & HR As with any other Finance department, the CVS Finance department are responsible for budget control, accounts payable and accounts receivable, along with keeping in line with credit regulations and policies, and processing bills. At CVS, the Finance team are all based at the Manchester office. Each member of the team has exceptional organisation skills in order to keep the finance of each office running smoothly. The HR and Recruitment departments are responsible for managing the overall provision of Human Resource services, practices and objectives that provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasises quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. I joined CVS four years ago as a Business Development Executive. This was an exciting time in the growth of the business as the sales team was expanding rapidly, so I was looking forward to joining an accomplished and dynamic sales force. I held this position for just under a year before being transferred to a newly created role focussing on client retention. In 2011 I applied for a management role and secured the position of Rating Audit Sales Manager. Last year we had a record year and the department won the Outstanding Contribution Award for 2012. SARAH LYONS COMMERCIAL SERVICES SALES MANAGER I joined CVS in June 2010 as a Finance Assistant, and in a short amount of time I progressed to Assistant Financial Controller. In this role, I manage the growing finance team, prepare weekly finance reports as well as the monthly management accounts. CVS are very keen on developing their staff, and part of my personal Training and Development plan was to qualify as a Chartered Management Accountant. I started studying for my CIMA in November 2010 with full support from the company. I gained valuable guidance from the Financial Controller and Finance Director. I thoroughly enjoy working in this team as you can oversee all elements of the finance department. CHARLOTTE DALLEY ASSISTANT FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
