July 2011 Release It s time for Admins to love work again Who doesn t want more control? What if you could spend less time administering your SuccessFactors system, but get better results? We worked hard on our administrative features for this release, but kept an eye on end users with some multi-media features that are sure to get them excited about sharing their knowledge with each other. Administration Gets a Makeover Administrators should love work t, so with this release we brought you a new user experience that provides: This release includes: New Admin tls Better knowledge sharing using multimedia More flexibility within Employee Central More powerful Ad Hoc Reports and Analytics More precision in Variable Pay A more intuitive UI to make it easier to find what you want and save frequently used pages to your favorites Including: icons instead of links, and Favorite admin links that are shown on the home page, giving you easy access to the tls you use most More powerful self-service configuration, empowering you to do more without contacting customer support Including: Manage Templates tl, which enables you to copy this year s goal plan to next year s, tuning the instructions and field names for users 2
More guidance and help in the form of wizards and video tutorials Including: a new Launch Forms wizard that walks you through the process step by step, making the process fast and easy Including: you ll find a 2-minute tutorial video introducing the new Manage Templates tl right in the product, as well as here, and in the customer community. We used our own tls to create help videos with our subject matter experts. If you would like the ability to create your own, customized videos, read on CubeTree Goes Multi-Media Giving users the ability to create and share compelling content of their own is the best way to engage them and make everyone more productive. Now your experts can share their knowledge visually by capturing their expertise in video, audio or screen capture mode without ever leaving CubeTree. Now CubeTree is even better at facilitating knowledge sharing because you can create your own content quickly and easily right in the product. Use the camera in your laptop to record a presentation, or the one on your smart phone to record a meeting you want to share with the team. Or, demonstrate exactly how to do something by capturing your keystrokes. The best part is that there s no training required. Whether your experts are in Bangor, Maine or Bangladesh, they can start creating and sharing content immediately. Employees Get More Focused Now there s a better way to surface the most important content in CubeTree. With Featured content, administrators can highlight the latest message from the CEO or HR, or important information that everyone needs to know. This helps it rise above rest of the conversations that are going on, and encourages users to explore related content. With Most Viewed and Most Liked users can see what others are lking at and what others like a great way to stay connected to what s important and highlight the highest quality content. Users start with popular content and continue to explore, discover and consume content quickly. This type of information automatically raises the quality of all content, since authors can see which of their own content is popular and adjust accordingly. Ad Hoc Reporting Gets More Powerful Want to create more visually enticing reports? With this release, we ve combined the power of Ad Hoc queries with our Report Designer to give you more ways to tell your story. Access your existing ad hoc queries from the report designer tl to create reports in tabular list format, pivot tables and a wide variety of chart styles. It s also easier to spread the word, with the Report Distributor tl that sends out reports via email. You can also clone Ad Hoc reports with this release making it easier to recreate your existing reports for other users accounts or environments. Workforce Analytics Gets Dragged and Dropped Since you like to travel light to executive meetings, now you can just carry your ipad and still demonstrate how you are moving the needle in the business with workforce analytics. With the new drag and drop, plus scrolling capabilities, SuccessFactors Workforce Analytics will now lk even better on your ipad. My friends, my family, my entertainment, my analytics all in one place. We supported the Japanese with a donation from the SuccessFactors Foundation after their devastating earthquake. Now we re supporting the Japanese language in Workforce Analytics. 4
Employee Central Gets More Flexible Flexible setup can be the difference between a process that works and one that doesn t. So, in this release, we ve added a new level of control over the user experience in Employee Central that covers three areas: Approval workflows: Now you can create approval workflows by country. Permissions: now you can set permissions to view and act on data at the field level Field display: now you can re-organize the fields within the portlets so that the order makes sense for your users These changes should enable you to create a user experience that will enable your users to love work again. Variable Pay Gets More Precise Everyone wants their compensation to be precisely correct, but sometimes the road to correct pay is complicated when it comes to variable pay. With this release, you can configure the manager form in Variable Pay to show a separate row for each bonus assignment for employees with more than one performance review during the performance period. You can also display bonus assignments in different currencies for employees who move around within a bonus period. 5
