The post holder will be responsible for preparing and cooking the Sportscafé menu to a high standard, adhering to recipes and working methods set by the catering manager, and for providing hospitality for large catering events. GENERAL Starting date The post is available immediately on an indefinite basis, working 37.5 hours per week. For calculation purposes the normal full time weekly working hours for this grade would be 40, so 37 hours and 30 minutes per week is 0.9375 FTE. Salary Salary in this part-time post will be 17,249 per annum pro rata to 18,399 per annum (derived from an hourly rate of 8.8457) on the Sportspark salary scale, plus 5% attendance bonus (subject to full attendance).

JOB DESCRIPTION REF: SP297 APPENDIX A Job Title: Department: Responsible to: Contact with: Chef Sportspark Catering Manager (daily supervision from Senior Catering Assistants) Staff, customers, managers within the department. Summary of post: To prepare and cook all of the food for the Sportscafé customers, functions, staff and hospitality, to the required standard as advised by the Catering Manager. To ensure the prompt and efficient operation of all services at the required times and to help maintain a clean and hygienic working environment which meets the Sportspark standards. The chef will work under the daily supervision of the Senior Catering Assistants who will provide guidance and support. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Adhere to recipes and working methods in accordance with the stock controlled system. 2. Monitor stock levels to ensure provision is made for replacement and to minimise waste. 3. Prepare dishes to standard recipes in order to ensure consistency. 4. Maintain high standards of presentation and display. 5. Observe all health and safety at work regulations as set out by the Sportspark in accordance with its statutory obligations. 6. Report any unsafe practices or broken machinery/equipment to the Catering Manager so that remedial action can be taken immediately. 7. Ensure correct use, maintenance and cleaning of equipment; using equipment as instructed through relevant training and observing all safe practices, so that accidents are avoided. 8. Undertake Food Hygiene training as required. 9. Follow COSHH procedures. 10. Maintain a high standard of personal and food hygiene to comply with statutory and Sportspark requirements. 11. Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all kitchen and related areas. 12. Carry out record keeping as necessary to ensure compliance with Food Safety regulations. 13. Ensure HACCP processes are followed and recorded as required. 14. Attend training courses as required and apply knowledge gained. 15.
