Product Descriptions and Offerings

Automation and Sample Handling Teledyne CETAC Technologies autosamplers are constantly evolving in response to requests for automation products that vary in size, speed and capabilities. Since 1993, CETAC has produced the industry s highest quality autosamplers to meet the needs of its customers. The underlying technology of our products is continuously evolving to improve our already robust hardware. CETAC delivers automation solutions for any sample size down to the microliter. Our equipment meets various challenges typical in laboratory environments with autodilutors, liquid handling stations, efficiencyincreasing analysis acceleration equipment and anti-contamination enclosures. We also provide tools to facilitate important aspects of sample prep including dilution, mixing, preconcentration, and purification. These specialized products are designed to reduce manual labor in the lab, eliminate error, and increase sample throughput. ASX-560 Series Autosamplers More features and improved performance define the latest generation of Teledyne CETAC autosamplers. The ASX 560 Autosampler Series which includes the ASX 280 compact autosampler and the XLR 860 extended rack autosampler builds upon the reliability of its predecessors which have proven their worth in tens of thousands of laboratories and countless hours of operation. Available accessories include anti-contamination enclosures, the SDXhpld onboard dilution system and the ASXpress Plus sample injection system.

Micro Autosamplers The MVX-7100 µl Workstation allows for sample volumes as low as 5 µl. Syringe driven rinse allows for stable low flow applications with low detection limits. The flow injection system allows for better washout and sensitivity by eliminating pump tubing and minimizing sample contact. The ASX-110FR and ASX 112FR Micro Autosamplers handle small volume samples (<2 ml) and feature a compact size, integrated protective cover and dual flowing rinse station. Ideal for cleanroom environments. Mixing Autosamplers Used oil samples analyzed for wear metals contain particulate matter which settles prior to analysis, leading to unrepeatable results. The ASX 1400 and ASX 1600 Mixing Autosamplers incorporate a simple stirring paddle to mix each sample automatically prior to analysis for more precise results. Identical mixing technology is in place on the APS 1650 Automated Preparation Station for the unattended dilution of oil samples prior to analysis. ASXpress Plus Rapid Sample Introduction System The ASXpress Plus is a simple sample injection accessory that dramatically increases sample throughput to an ICP-AES or ICP-MS. The ASXpress Plus features a metal-free, 6-port injection valve and inert, highspeed vacuum pump to rapidly load a sample loop for introduction to the nebulizer. A simple software interface controls method parameters (such as load time); all system parameters are stored in the dedicated control module.

Laser Ablation Teledyne CETAC Technologies and Photon Machines joined forces in 2010 with a view to advance laser ablation technology for elemental analysis, and to offer a full range of products globally. This collaboration brought together the experience in Photon Machines design team with the sample introduction expertise of CETAC. Teledyne Photon Machines, a brand of Teledyne CETAC Technologies, provides laser ablation systems ranging from CO 2 and diode lasers, through 266 nm and 213 nm solid state Nd:YAG, 193 excimer laser systems and femtosecond laser systems. In addition to this, the company provides accessories to enhance the capabilities of laser ablation systems.

Solid State Laser Ablation Systems LSX Platform Laser Ablation Systems feature the Light Engine inside a hermetically sealed, MIL SPEC laser head affording unmatched stability and user serviceability. Precision mounted optical components on a vibration isolated optical bench allow the systems to be used on multiple analytical instruments at multiple locations with confidence and ease. Simple, elegant component layout leads to improved stability and ease of maintenance. The open architecture sample area enables flexibility for a wide range of specialized and custom sample cells. Excimer Laser Ablation Systems Our excimer laser ablation systems deliver finely controlled, homogenizer-flat ablations with high sensitivity and split second response. Stagesynchronized fire-on-the-fly lasing provides depth profiling of lines and raster areas like never before. Independent video and lasing optical element provides optimal viewing and crater quality. All are compatible with the class leading HelEx II Active 2-Volume Ablation Cell, enabling fast washout and a constant ablation environment. A Wide Range of Accessories In addition to laser systems, CETAC provides a series of flexible, innovative solutions to solve particular application needs, including: HelEx II 2-Volume LA-ICP-MS cell, the most peer reviewed, most flexible, and most capable sample cell on the market. eqc In-Situ L.A. Energy Detector giving true measurements at the sample. ARIS Aerosol Rapid Introduction System captures single shot events, reduces sampling time, increases throughput, and reduces gas usage. ExiCheck Gas Exchange Accessory allows fire-and-forget preservation of the laser for excimer performance with the convenience of a YAG.

Liquid Sample Introduction Teledyne CETAC Technologies offers a comprehensive line of specialized liquid sample introduction accessories for ICP-AES and ICP-MS. These accessories provide signal enhancement, reduction of spectral interferences, resistance to highly corrosive liquids and the introduction of low-volume (<1 ml) samples. In addition, products are available for trace element preconcentration and sub-boiling distillation of inorganic acids. Ultrasonic Nebulizers U5000AT + and U6000AT + Ultrasonic Nebulizers offer detection limits up to 10 times lower for ICP AES and ICP MS. Samples are introduced onto a piezoelectric transducer for greater analyte transport efficiency to the ICP. The U6000AT + adds a membrane desolvation module for improved reduction of solvent-based interferences, particularly for volatile organic solvents. Aridus 3 Desolvating Nebulizer for ICP-MS A low-flow PFA nebulizer and heated PFA spray chamber coupled to an inert fluoropolymer membrane desolvator unit provide up to 10 times enhanced analyte sensitivity while reducing solvent based interferences. Advantageous for small volume and highly corrosive samples (e.g. HF) in earth sciences and the semiconductor industry.

HGX-200 Hydride Generation/Cold Vapor System A specialized system for the generation of volatile hydride species or the reduction of mercury to Hg(0) (cold vapor). Elements of interest that form volatile hydrides include difficult to measure elements As, Se and Sb. The HGX 200 is easily interfaced to any ICP AES or ICP MS instrument. Marin-5 Enhanced Nebulizer for ICP-AES/ICP MS A concentric pneumatic nebulizer coupled to a heated spray chamber/desolvation system provides up to 5 times signal improvement for ICP AES and ICP-MS, increases analyte transport efficiency to the ICP and enables fast sample washout. CEI-100 Capillary Electrophoresis Interface for ICP-MS Features a specialized low-flow nebulizer and low-volume spray chamber that maintains the high resolving power of capillary electrophoresis (CE) while utilizing the high sensitivity and multi-element capability of ICP MS. The CEI 100 is especially useful for metallomic studies. DS-5 Microflow Concentric Nebulizer The DS-5 is a specialized nebulizer for very low-flow applications (3 to 10 µl/min), including micro-hplc coupled with ICP-MS. The DS-5 includes a dedicated low-volume spray chamber which can connect directly via a glass socket to the base of the ICP-MS torch. OmniPure Sub-Boiling Distillation System Allows on-demand production of high purity inorganic acids (e.g. HNO 3, HCl, HF) from less expensive reagent grade materials. Fully automated with all wetted parts composed of inert, high-purity fluoropolymers. SPR IDA Reagent Beads SPR-IDA (Suspended Particulate Reagent Iminodiacetate) is a sample preparation material for preconcentration of trace elements and reduction of high alkali metal (e.g. Na) sample matrix levels.
