The Institute of Water s Approach to CPD CPD is at the heart of the Institute it s our reason for being All corporate members are expected to undertake CPD It is a key requirement of all professional registrations we award The Institute has a CPD Code that explains our expectations of members and the Institute s commitment. Registration Authorities Expectations for CPD Clear expectation of CPD. Nature and monitoring left up to the institution. May become more prescriptive in future. Expectation of participation in CPD and that institutions will monitor, although approach not prescribed. CPD is an absolute requirement. Scientists must affirm CPD participation annually. Monitoring standards set for institutions. At least one CPD assessor must be a scientist.

The Institute s CPD annual monitoring exercise Providing members with feedback is an important part of the monitoring process. It helps people improve and ensures that members get something positive back from the process. Please try to give both positive and negative feedback that is specific, meaningful and diplomatic! We d like to provide the feedback you give on the form directly to members.
How Will CPD Records be Provided? We don t specify as long as it is clear. What about the CPD portal? The Institute s CPD tool is a great way for members to record their CPD and is recommended because it encourages a best practice approach. But it s not the only way and other methods are acceptable.
