History The MWM can look back at a tradition lasting over 140 years which has always been accompanied by innovations. 1871: Car inventor Carl Benz set the basis with the foundation of his "Mechanical Workshop in Mannheim. 1922: The company split up. The Motoren-Werke Mannheim AG, formerly Benz, "Stationary Engine Construction evolved. 1985: Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz AG took over MWM. 2005: Deutz AG spun off a division known as DEUTZ Power Systems. 2007: Deutz sold it to the investment firm of 3i in the fall of 2007. 2008: Re-Branding to MWM. 2011: MWM becomes part of Caterpillar Inc. 1871 1908 1922 1945 1979 2004 2008 Page 3

MWM. Products and add value services Special gas applications Power Generation from biogas obtained from landfills, WWTP, Bio- Methanisation plants Turn-Key-Solutions Consultancy, Engineering, Design Complete delivery and assembly of power plants Greenhouse. CHP + Fertilisation via CO2 Global level CO2 level 350 360 ppm In greenhouse level is raised up to 700 1200 ppm (depending on season) Higher CO2 level in greenhouse is not harmful for humans Production improvement up to 30% Page 5 Cogeneration/Trigeneration Project-specific layout of plant components Modular concepts for easy installation

WHAT IS COGENERATION? PRODUCTION OF ELECTRICAL AND THERMAL POWER: At the same time In the same power machine. Conventional energy Power plant Natural Gas Mains Heat: Steam Hot oil. Hot water Electricity COGENERATION Natural Gas Electricity Heat: Steam Hot oil. Hot water Page 8
WHAT IS COGENERATION? Why Cogeneration is profitable? Conventional energy Primary Energy (Primary Fuel) 100% Power plant Mains Transformers Factory Total Efficiency: < 50% based on primary energy Consumption COGENERATION Natural Gas Electricity (44%) MWM Gas Engine Page 9 Heat: Steam Hot oil. Hot water Efficiency: > 70% based on primary energy Consumption
How Can Cogeneration help Textile industry? Natural Gas Actual Heat: Steam (5-11 bar) Hot oil (About 250ºC) Hot water Electricity: Boiler Design Criteria: Energy savings Conventional systems must run as a back up system. CHP plant must run in parallel with mains and with Boilers. CHP Plant must be commanded by Control System of the Factory Page 10 Control Nodes.
