52 SG-Systems WG Scope (to be reviewed) SG-Systems WG: The SG-Systems defines requirements, policies, and services, based on utility industry standards such as the Common Information Model (CIM), required for information exchange from and to utility enterprise back office systems and between these back office systems and data acquisition and control servers (e.g., MDMS, AMI Head Ends, SCADA, etc.). Task forces are established on an as needed basis to accomplish these goals for specific functional areas. In addition to work performed by their vertical team, Chairs act as matrix managers to ensure their functional requirements are met through the horizontal teams supporting them. Horizontal Teams are ongoing, providing consistent artifacts for each increment of functionality that is requested of them by the functional (vertical) teams.

55 Defining EIM (Gartner) Enterprise Information Management (EIM) is: An organizational commitment to structure, secure and improve the accuracy and integrity of information assets, to solve semantic inconsistencies across all boundaries, and support the technical, operational and business objectives within the organization's enterprise architecture strategy. A commitment to EIM is recognition that information in the enterprise is as important as process (application development) and infrastructure (technology)

56 EIM Charter Identify and articulate common EIM requirements: Use cases System Requirements Specification (SRS) Work with other OpenSG groups, particularly OpenHAN, OpenADE, OpenADR and AMI-Ent, to establish requirements. Develop common EIM Framework that satisfies requirements, taking advantage of other relevant industry work as appropriate (e.g., vision, governance, processes, etc.) Collaborate to build an OpenSG generic semantic model and/or reference model to be used as members as a starting point for their enterprises. Leverages standards specified in the NIST Smart Grid Roadmap Provide a forum for exchanging information so that all members can benefit from lessons learned. Collaborate with Standards Development Organizations (SDOs), NIST SGIP, and/or consortiums so that needed advancements are accomplished in the most appropriate organizations in the most efficient manner. 57 EIM First meeting - Wednesday at 3:30 EIM Birds of a Feather Briefly discuss new EIM TF SharePoint Utility member presentation regarding their EIM experiences and plans, focusing on: 1) EIM challenges 2) lessons learned 3) key requirements The purpose for this session is twofold: 1) Learning from one another while getting ourselves to common reference point, 2) Systematically ensuring the EIM System Requirements Specification (SRS) and use cases that we are developing will address the highest priority requirements (functional and nonfunctional) of our member organizations.

65 OpenADR Charter Identify and articulate DR signals requirements (based on LBNL OpenADR specification) and work with Standards Development Organizations (SDOs) and vendor consortiums to realize those requirements. Engage with the NIST Smart Grid Roadmap activities and address communications related OpenSG tasks in the various NIST Priority Action Plans (PAP09, etc.). OpenADR focuses on DR from an application point of view and specifically on the interactions between the Utility and Facility whereas other groups within UCAIug are more focused on platforms or systems that may support DR applications within their specific domains. Work closely with horizontal OpenSG groups. Some overlap with OpenHAN (facility side) and AMI Ent (Utility head end side). Develop requirements and harmonize with CIM efforts. Slide 65
