Recommended crops Winter and spring wheat and winter and spring barley. Target diseases Wheat: Septoria tritici, Leptosphaeria (syn. Septoria) nodorum, Yellow Rust, Brown Rust, Tan spot. Barley: Net Blotch, Brown Rust, Rhynchosporium, Barley spotting when used as part of a programme with other fungicides. Use rate Wheat: 2.0 l/ha. Barley: 2.0 l/ha. Water volume and spray quality Apply in 200 litres of water per ha in a MEDIUM spray quality at a pressure of at least 2 bar. LERAP information Category B 5m buffer zone, which can be reduced depending on dose rate, width of watercourse, sprayer type or 1m zone if ditch is dry. Rainfastness Rainfast 2 hours after application. Limit to number of applications Maximum 2 applications per crop (maximum total dose 4.0 l/ha per crop). Latest application timing Wheat: Before grain watery ripe stage (GS 71). Barley: Before first spikelet just visible (GS 51). Pack 5 litre. Area treated per pack 2.5 ha at 2 l/ha rate. 3 From this point, where CREDO is mentioned, the information also applies to Zimbrail. Important information and restrictions IMPORTANT INFORMATION Field of use: For use on: Maximum individual dose: Maximum total dose: Maximum number of treatments: Latest time of application: FOR USE ONLY AS AN AGRICULTURAL FUNGICIDE. Winter and spring wheat, winter and spring barley. 2 litres product per hectare. 4 litres product/hectare/crop. 2 per crop. Other specific restrictions: The container must not be re-used for any purpose. Barley Before first spikelet just visible (Growth Stage 51). Wheat Before grain watery ripe (Growth Stage 71). To reduce the risk of resistance developing in target diseases the total number of applications of product containing Qol fungicides made to any cereal crop must not exceed two. This product qualifies for inclusion within the Local Environmental Risk Assessment for Pesticides (LERAP) Scheme. Before each spraying operation from a horizontal boom sprayer or broadcast air assisted sprayer either a LERAP must be carried out in accordance with HSE s published guidance or the statutory buffer zone must be maintained. The results of the LERAP must be recorded and kept available for inspection for three years. READ THE LABEL BEFORE USE. USING THIS PRODUCT IN A MANNER THAT IS INCONSISTENT WITH THE LABEL MAY BE AN OFFENCE. FOLLOW THE CODE OF PRACTICE FOR USING PLANT PROTECTION PRODUCTS. 80 Credo /Zimbrail fungicides
Restrictions Do not apply to crops under stress. Do not apply during frosty weather. Do not apply more than 2 applications of Qol-containing products to cereals. Following crop restrictions There are no following crop restrictions. General information CREDO contains both picoxystrobin (a strobilurin) and chlorothalonil (a chlorophenyl). It has systemic, translaminar and preventative properties and is vapour active for the control of a wide range of diseases in wheat and barley. Picoxystrobin and other strobilurin analogues inhibit fungal respiration. Their mode of action is different from the action of other fungicidal groups and there is no known crossresistance to this mode of action in pathogens, which have developed reduced sensitivity to other fungicides. Chlorothlonil is a multi-site fungicide and shows no cross-resistance to strobilurins and triazoles. CREDO shows good crop safety, disease control and maintenance of green leaf area which results in significant yield benefits. CREDO is best used as a protectant treatment or in the earliest stages of disease development. The length of disease control is generally about four to six weeks during the period of active stem elongation, but can be more when applied at flag leaf/ear emergence. Directions for use Crops/varieties and timing CREDO may be used on all varieties of wheat and barley. CREDO is accepted by the BBPA for use on crops for malting. fungicides Credo /Zimbrail 81
Winter and spring wheat: From before disease onset to before grain watery ripe (GS 71). Winter and spring barley: From before disease onset to before first spikelet visible (GS 51). Disease control is most effective when diseases are at low levels and before they spread to new growth. Application can be repeated after 3-4 weeks if necessary. Crop safety CREDO is safe on all commercially recommended varieties of winter and spring wheat and winter and spring barley crops if used as directed. Rates of use Winter and spring wheat: 2 litres product per ha. Winter and spring barley: 2 litres product per ha. Rates may be subject to adjustment depending on variety, tank-mix partner and disease pressures. Application Apply in 200 litres of water per hectare using a MEDIUM spray quality at a pressure of at least 2 bar. In dense crops, increase the water volume to 250 to 300 litres/ha to improve coverage. Limit to number of applications Wheat and barley: Maximum 2 applications per crop (maximum 4.0 l/ha). Weather Rainfall within 2 hours of application may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. Soil Apply CREDO under good growing conditions with adequate soil moisture. Avoid poor growing conditions, which may give less reliable results. 82 Credo /Zimbrail fungicides
Resistance management CREDO is a co-formulated mixture of the strobilurin picoxystrobin and chlorothalonil. The two active ingredients possess different modes of action and thus form part of a resistance management strategy. CREDO contains a member of the QoI cross-resistance group. CREDO should be used preventatively and should not be relied on for its curative potential. Control of many diseases may be improved by using CREDO with an appropriate triazole mixture partner. This is also good practice for resistance management. Use CREDO as part of an Integrated Crop Management (ICM) strategy incorporating other methods of control, including where appropriate other fungicides with a different mode of action. You must not apply more than two foliar applications of QoI containing products to any cereal crop. Disease control may be reduced if strains of other pathogens less sensitive to CREDO develop. Users should refer to current FRAG-UK guidelines for QoI compounds. Diseases controlled Wheat: Septoria tritici, Leptoshaeria (Syn Septoria) nodorum, Yellow Rust (moderate), Brown Rust, Tan Spot. Barley: Net Blotch, Brown Rust, Rhynchosporium, Barley spotting when used as part of a programme with other fungicides. Control of many diseases may be improved by using CREDO with an appropriate triazole mixture partner (e.g. epoxiconazole or prothioconazole). This is also good practice for resistance management. Compatibility Refer to Compatibility appendix. fungicides Credo /Zimbrail 83
Mixing Make sure the sprayer is set to give an even application at the correct volume. Fill the spray tank with half the required volume of clean water and start agitation. Shake the CREDO containers well before use. CREDO mixes easily with water and should be added directly to the spray tank during filling. Add the required amount of CREDO to the spray tank. Wash out containers and add washings to the spray tank. Agitate the mixture thoroughly before use and continue agitation during spraying. Do not leave the spray liquid in the sprayer for long periods (such as during meal breaks or overnight). Spray tank clean out Thoroughly wash out sprayer according to manufacturer s guidelines and dispose of washings and clean containers according to DEFRA Code of Practice and local Water Authority guidelines. In case of emergency For assistance on transport, storage or handling incidents, contact DuPont Emergency Response Centre, telephone: For medical emergencies, contact the National Poisons Information Service, telephone: 111 (England and Wales) and (Scotland). PLEASE REFER TO PRODUCT LABEL FOR FULL CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL AND SAFE USE. 84 Credo /Zimbrail fungicides
372 Credo /Zimbrail in spring barley Credo / Zimbrail in spring barley Provided the products are legally registered in the UK for use in spring barley, CREDO / ZIMBRAIL can be tank-mixed with one product in any column incorporating mixes up to the maximum of a single row of ticks. If a box is left blank then a product from that column group cannot be included in the tank-mix. For example, mix 1 would only allow CREDO + Ally Max SX + Talius + Eclipse + 3C Chlormequat. Each product should be added seperately to the bulk of the water in the spray tank and thoroughly mixed before adding to the next chemical. Always use constant agitation during mixing, transportation and application. Spray immediately. Do not tank-mix CREDO / ZIMBRAIL with Corniche / Tigress Ultra or any product containing carfentrazone-ethyl or cinedon-ethyl. These products can be applied to a crop treated or intended to be treated with CREDO / ZIMBRAIL only if a 14 day interval is observed between applications. Du Pont (U.K.) Limited supports the physical compatibility and crop safety of all tank-mixes listed providing individual products are used according to their label. Do not use any tank-mix if the mixture cannot be applied within the recommendations for individual products or if specific tank-mix restrictions apply. Maintain constant agitation at all times.
