2 , with INFORS HT Bioreactors: (1) Market Strategy, How to Order Market Strategy Our target is to sell more new INFORS HT bioreactors. o INFORS HT strategy is to offer the best po 2 sensor technology available (), with new INFORS HT equipment. o We keep the same prices, like the Polarographic type po 2 sensor. o Therefore, the sensor adds value to INFORS HT bioreactors, without adding cost. o Therefore, the sensor helps to sell more new INFORS HT bioreactors. New Bioreactors o sensors are available for sale with New Bioreactors o New bioreactors will be delivered with the correct connection cables and configuration, for sensors. o Therefore it will be very simple to order for new orders, with no issues about sensor or bioreactor configuration. o Bioreactors configured for will not work directly with standard Polarographic po 2 sensors (except Minifors). Existing Bioreactors (Upgrade to ) o It is technically possible to upgrade existing INFORS HT bioreactors with sensors, if this is a strong customer request. o Due to technical considerations, this is not generally recommended: o Configuration for Upgrades sometimes must be case-by-case. o Compatibility of INFORS HT sensor configuration cannot be guaranteed for upgraded INFORS HT bioreactors, according to case-by-case configuration of upgrades. Therefore compatibility issues might happen, for some upgraded bioreactors. o Reminder: Our market strategy for is to add value to INFORS HT bioreactors, to easily sell new INFORS HT bioreactors. How to Order o Select the correct package according to the new bioreactor that you order. This includes the data connection system and the correctly configured sensor. o For Benchtop bioreactors, also order a sensor adapter (height adjustable). A sensor adapter is automatically included in the package, for Techfors/Techfors-S (25mm port). o Order additional accessories, according to the requirements of the customer. Accessories are not required, but can be useful.

This means: Calibration data is stored in the Minifors/X-DDC/Touchscreen o For calibration on the bioreactor, no accessories are needed. o For calibration on the bioreactor, all calibration protocols are the same as for Polarographic po 2 sensors. Calibration on the sensor o For sensors, calibration of the po 2 signal can be done optionally on the sensor. This means: Calibration data is stored in the sensor The po 2 signal from the sensor is already calibrated o For calibration on the sensor, an accessory is needed: (A) VISICAL device (compatible with Minifors only) (B) PC connection (compatible with all bioreactors) (C) Touchscreen with Calibration (not available yet)

Signal output type: o ECS / 4-20mA / Modbus o The standard configuration is defined for all INFORS HT bioreactors, according to the optimum solution for each bioreactor. Please refer to the compatibility chart above. Communication settings: o Modbus ID, Baud rate o The standard configuration is defined for all INFORS HT bioreactors, according to the optimum solution for each bioreactor. Measurement units: o % saturation, mg/l (ppm), ug/l (ppb), volume% oxygen o % saturation provides po 2 readings in the range % according to calibration at 100% po 2 using air as the gas supply. o % saturation is the industry standard for Polarographic po 2 measurements. This is standard for all INFORS HT bioreactors. o All INFORS HT sensors operate using % saturation o Therefore, po 2 data values % saturation are equivalent between and Polarographic sensors. o Other measurement units are currently not compatible with INFORS HT bioreactors: mg/l (ppm), ug/l (ppb), volume% oxygen. Service Care and maintenance o sensors must be handled and maintained according to the manufacturer s instructions. Please consult the User Manual and other relevant documents from Hamilton. o sensor caps (optical membranes) are normally expected to last approximately 50 autoclave cycles. This depends on the customer methods of culture, autoclaving, cleaning. o expected sensor life, is at least 100 autoclave cycles. Due to the technical issues of configuration with and INFORS HT bioreactors, sensors must be purchased from INFORS AG to avoid compatibility problems. Therefore: o The After-Sales Service team at INFORS AG can only provide support for sensors which were purchased from INFORS AG. o The After-Sales Service team at INFORS AG will NOT provide support for sensors which were purchased outside.
