2 Daimler Trucks North America LLC Contractor/Supplier/Vendor Environmental Management System Information and Awareness Training This is to inform all contractors, suppliers and vendors (C/S/Vs) whose work could reasonably be expected to have a significant effect upon the Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) facilities environmental status or performance. The success of our Environmental Management System (EMS) at DTNA involves all individuals on our site. We are asking you to: 1. Be familiar with DTNA s Environmental Policy. 2. Be familiar with Banned Substances, Restricted Substances and New Chemical Approval Procedure 09EM-PROC014 and Chemical Approval Request Form 09EM-R Drive responsibly on our site. Accidents can cause release of fluids or materials. 4. In the event or observation of a spill (e.g., a release from a fuel tank, a spill of materials being delivered, etc.), immediately report it to the facility security organization. 5. Put general trash in proper refuse containers; and materials for recycling in designated containers. 6. Properly dispose of all waste liquids and materials in approved containers. While on our property, DO NOT dump anything in above or below grade drains, watercourses, sewers, trenches or pits. Daimler Trucks NA Environmental policy: DTNA is operating under an ISO Environmental Management System and we are committed to manufacturing our vehicles in an environmentally responsible manner. We will do this through (TRUCKS): Top management commitment; Reducing our impact on the environment through pollution prevention; Understanding and complying with environmental requirements; Continuous improvement of our environmental performance; Keen focus on environmental advanced product and process design; Setting and achieving environmental goals.

3 DTNA s EMS Requirements All C/S/Vs entering a DTNA facility for the purpose of contacting personnel or providing deliveries to the facility must clearly understand their role in DTNA s Environmental Management System (EMS). All C/S/Vs will be expected to be able to demonstrate that their employees have received the appropriate information and/or have the requisite competence before visiting a DTNA facility. This may be done either in person or via written communication with the pertinent DTNA facility. All C/S/Vs who work at a DTNA facility are expected to be able to demonstrate that they are competent to provide the requested goods and/or services in an environmentally responsible manner, and that they hold any environmental licenses or certifications required by law for the work to be performed. All C/S/V personnel are expected to know how to report an on-site spill, leak, or other emergency, unless they will be continuously with and under the direct control of a DTNA employee or C/S/V employee who has such knowledge. All C/S/Vs must adhere to the Banned Substances, Restricted Substances and New Chemical Approval Procedure. All C/S/Vs, before bringing any new chemical into a DTNA facility must complete the Chemical Approval Request Form as required by the specific facility. Turn it in to the Site Environmental Engineer (SEE) or CEE (for use at the corporate facility), with a copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). Submittal of a full disclosure MSDS is mandatory (all ingredients and percentage listed). 4 09EM-PROC014 Banned Substances, Restricted Substances and New Chemical Approval Procedure Purpose To establish criteria which Daimler Trucks of North America (DTNA) will use to deny, or conditionally approve chemicals which have a significantly high deleterious impact on human health or the environment. Furthermore, this procedure is used for review and approval of new chemicals Corporate-wide. This is true without regard to how the material arrived, its intended purpose, or any actual or implied assurances for: regulatory conformance, control of use, and disposal. Scope This procedure applies to all DTNA facilities identified within the DTNA EMS which use or consume chemicals. Definitions Banned Substances Substances designated as banned shall not be approved for use by any DTNA facility identified within the DTNA EMS. Restricted Substances Substances identified as restricted may not be desirable in some applications and whose use shall be limited. Future prohibition is possible. Technically and economically feasible substitutes should be investigated to replace restricted substances. Carcinogens Any known substance, or any substance reasonably anticipated to be a cancer causing agent by the United States National Toxicology program in the latest version of the Annual Report on Carcinogens. Mutagens: (Mutagenic Substances) Any chemical that can produce a genetic mutation, i.e., an induction of DNA damage, or changes in chromosome structure or number, including: substances

5 classified as mutagens under the provisions of the European EC directives on the classification, Packaging and Labeling of Dangerous Substances and Dangerous Preparations. Reproductive Toxicants Substances or other agents which may affect male or female fertility, cause damage to unborn or newborn child, or provoke miscarriage, including: Substances classified as Category 1, 2 or 3 due to adverse effects on fertility, or their developmental toxicity under the provisions of the European EC Directives on the Classification, Packaging and Labeling of Dangerous Substances and Dangerous Preparations. Procedure IDENTIFYING BANNED SUBSTANCES Corporate Environmental is responsible for identifying and maintaining a list of all banned substances. Banned substances are strictly prohibited from use at DTNA facilities due to the potential for severe adverse impacts to human health or the environment. The following substances have been identified by DTNA and are banned from use under any circumstances. Restricted substances are: Any hazardous material that would be stored/used in quantities that would require a manufacturing plant to be included in the scope of 29 CFR , Procedure Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals or, Any of the hazardous materials regulated by OSHA under 29CFR through The Site Environmental Engineer is responsible for approving or denying all restricted substances per site specific Chemical Approval Procedure. The petition must be submitted via . Corporate Environmental Engineering is responsible for processing requests and updating the Banned and Restricted substance list and maintaining a record of all requests. NEW CHEMICAL APPROVAL PROCEDURE Before you may bring any new chemical into a DTNA facility you must: Complete the Chemical Approval Request Form as required by the specific facility. Turn it in to the Site Environmental Engineer (SEE) or CEE (for use at the corporate facility), with a copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
