2 Why upgrade to Thomson Reuters Eikon from StarMine Professional? 1. Eikon provides greater breadth of content and removes the need for additional content sets from other sources. It includes a wider range of asset classes beyond equities including fixed Income, derivatives, commodities, fund securities and analysis. 2. Model usability and updates all the StarMine models have been built into Eikon with better visualization. As our StarMine team develops new models they will be added to Eikon but not to StarMine Professional. 3. Fundamentals Eikon has more in-depth fundamentals data including expanded detail and line item, click-through to source filings and an interactive income statement for quick modelling. 4. Real-time Estimates Access estimates data with real-time updates so you are always up to date with changes, plus expanded content from Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S including 192 Industry specific key performance indicators (KPIs). 5. Timely Corporate Events coverage including transcripts for thousands of companies. 6. Macro Analysis Eikon provides more macro data for top-down analysis including country, index and industry views and access to Datastream with 4.8 million economic time series with histories back to the 1950s. 7. Portfolio Analytics Eikon has a suite of portfolio analysis tools, including real-time contribution/attribution, which are not available in StarMine Professional. 8. Charting Eikon provides more comprehensive charting capabilities e.g. a new Chart List mode for indices and portfolios enables you to quickly scroll through constituent data without having to know codes. 9. 4 Search USABILITY AND SEARCH Use Eikon s search box to find apps, data and answers to your questions Eikon provides highly intuitive search through autosuggest and natural language search e.g. Type Ford vs GM Sales Search across asset classes Includes greater private company coverage 1. Start typing Vodafone in the Search box. 2. 5 Workflow Linking Views in a Workspace USABILITY AND SEARCH First Create a New Workspace then add Apps to it or select from our range of sample templates CREATE A NEW WORKSPACE Click here (top right tool bar) to create new workspaces or open sample templates. ADD APPS TO YOUR WORKSPACE When you open an app by selecting it in the app menu, the App Library, or through the Search box, it automatically becomes part of your active workspace. This example includes a Quote List, Option Watch, and News Monitor. The active symbol (in this case, Renault <RENA.PA>) is the most recent financial instrument you have focused on. When you add an app, it automatically displays data for the active symbol. SUGGESTED APPS Company Overview (type company name or code and OV e.g. Apple OV ) Industry Overviews (type INDUS ) Country Overviews (type country name) Search (type SEARCH ) Screener (type SCREENER ) Click an app title bar to move the app. Click and slowly drag an app until its frame touches another app:the two apps snap together, and you can move them around as a single entity. Resize an app as you would any other window: just click the frame and drag to the new size. Add News Monitor to your workspace to get: the latest market-moving news historical news archives feature-rich, intuitive user interface 5

6 Workflow Linking Views in a Workspace USABILITY AND SEARCH Then Link the apps together You can link apps together so that they share the content of your chosen instruments. Color-coded apps tune in to the same data. 1. This example includes a quote list, news and a company overview page. 2. In the top left of each app, click to choose a color. In this case, all three apps are linked with red. 3. Now that the apps are linked, type a new instrument code into any app. All other apps will automatically display content for the new instrument. Tip: When you snap apps together, if one is already tuned to a color, the other one links to the same color. SHARE WITH COLLEAGUES After creating your workspace, you can save it for later use or share it with colleagues. Right click on the Workspace and select Share to send to a colleague using Messenger. 7 Routine Tasks Monitoring a Portfolio or List MARKET MONITORING Type Routine or RTNE The Routines app lets you monitor instruments within a Portfolio or List, and automate repetitive tasks Cycle through your list of securities using the slideshow bar To save time choose from a library of preset routines under Sample Routines including Security Analysis, Thomson ONE Analytics and StarMine Analytics routines Or build your own routine customized to your needs by selecting new template Print options enable you to select the specific views you want to print e.g. Valuation panels, Price charts etc For a quick one page overview go to Sample Routines and select the 1 Page Summary 7

8 Analyst Activity and Significant Changes MARKET MONITORING To access type PULSE Select your portfolio or list Monitor and review significant activities impacting companies in your portfolios and coverage lists with quick access to news, events, research and more See positive or negative movements for critical data sets such as price changes, technical indicators, news, StarMine Analytic scores and other factors all in one dashboard to help you quickly focus on what s most important You are also alerted to new analyst research including recommendation changes, revisions to estimates and management changes The Constituents tab allows you to create custom reports with your selected data items for the constituents of your chosen portfolio or list. 12 Research Advanced Search SECURITY ANALYSIS To access type RESEARCH and select Research Advanced Search Build and save your advanced searches using a range of criteria including public or private company, industry, analyst, report type and country or region Use keyword text search across documents or headlines to quickly pinpoint specific reports Search for reports specifically related to companies in your portfolios Filter by analyst ratings e.g. 4/5 star analysts Includes extensive filtering options, print merge, revision signal and more Tip: You can search for Analysts in the Eikon Directory. Simply type Directory and start searching. You can filter by Organisation, job function and other criteria and also the contact or send them a Message using the Eikon Messenger tool 12

18 Analyst Performance Scorecard And Current Opinions SECURITY ANALYSIS To access hover over the analyst name in the Top Analysts View and open their Performance Scorecard and Current Opinions The Analyst Performance Scorecard shows a sell-side analyst s coverage universe and provides a snapshot of their performance, including details on the accuracy of earnings estimates and recommendations Current Opinions provides earnings estimates, recommendation, and price targets for the companies the analyst currently covers You can click through from current recommendations and price targets to the relevant analyst s research report You can access analyst opinions and scorecards from other screens within Eikon where analysts are listed such as Detailed Estimates.
