3 Data control needs / PLM Requirements Needs Integration of various disciplines and heterogeneous stakeholders software An unique and shared semantic definition for each data Availability of all data in a no-proprietary format to make the Industrial architect and the plant operator able to work (read and re-design data) PLM Requirements It (PDM) integrates, under a numerical, unified, relevant, scalable, and perennial over time format, the data produced by the different software (schematic, data sheets, 3D mockup) during the plant design and operating activities A neutral and shared PDM model (or neutral occurrence model ) is defined. 5 Motives and Issues about ISO Motives Research papers and Nuclear Industrial testing (Rosatom, Korean with KEPCO et KHNP, AREVA) AREVA and EDF PLM teams agree to share their on-going research work about their ISO Evaluation Originally addressed to oil and gas plant process, which are very closed to thermal and nuclear power production process Relevant to cover all the disciplines, thanks to its neutral exchange model with semantic held on reference data ( RDL ). Issues Failure of exchanges between business applications known as ISO compliant Reference data for the Nuclear Industry are incomplete The standard is complex, still in evolution, very abstract and permissive. 7 Assimilation of ISO concepts Part 2 : 201 generic entities whose instances are data reference class (RDL) and exchanged occurrences The relevant classification of class RDL for the disciplinary domain, the exchange s subject. 8 Design of the RDL for the Nuclear Industry Hypothesis The open RDL of the Part 4 includes hundred class with definitions, a detail level, and a consistency difficult to understand The limited assimilation of the part 2 The EDF reference business model MUDU, model that bridges all disciplines, consistent, structured and operational which EDF wants to perserve and expand. 14 Temporary conclusion Standard benefits A shared interest by the nuclear companies An opened standard, neutral exchange model, enabling to cover all nuclear disciplines Issues, semantic aspects The standard is complex, and the tools which make it understandable, specially by the business teams, don t exist yet The important effort (means and skills) for the nuclear RDL production. A clear methodology with simple prescriptions to put into practice on an existing business model, including engineering activities, still misses. Required from industrial companies research works on the standard : workshop dedicated to the IDMI commission? Issues, implementation aspects Will the industry actors be able to obtain, from software editors, solid and scalable conversion tools validated by ISO 15926?
