Course Objectives Throughout the course, participants learn the skills necessary to meet the following objectives: Describe the major components from Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) that interact with the VNA Explain how Health Level 7 (HL7) messages integrate external systems Explain how AcuoStore and AcuoMed interoperate Implement AcuoStore and AcuoMed on virtual machine software Demonstrate how to query external DICOM devices, create batch move jobs to push and pull images Monitor patient data with the relevant batch managers Explain the edit, merge, and deletion processes for patient data Describe potential daily administrative duties related to monitoring, troubleshooting, and configuration Configure file shares, managed shares, applications, DICOM Databases, Routes, and Called AEs VNA components Describe and configure external Service Class Users (SCUs), federation, reconciliation, relevant priors associated with pre and postfetching, storage commit, and tag rule routing Explain the DICOM replication process to a secondary data center to include both DICOM replication and Meta-data replication Explore the Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing (XDS) and Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing for Imaging (XDS-I) Describe how the migration process works 1

DAY ONE Schedule Section Description Introduction 0830 to 0900 Meet your trainer and classmates along with a review of the agenda, objectives, and materials. Introduction to VNA 0900 to 0930 Discuss the purpose of Perceptive Content VNA for Healthcare is and the role it plays within the enterprise. BREAK 0930 to 0940 DICOM to 1100 Review the Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine standard. HL7 and AcuoSemantix 1100 to 1200 Review how Health Level 7 messages integrate external systems with Perceptive Content VNA, including ADT, ORM, SIU, and ORU messages. AcuoStore and AcuoMed 1300 to 1400 Discuss AcouStore and AcuoMed and how they interoperate to form the Perceptive Content VNA. EXERCISES: Software Installation 1400 to 1430 Install and implement AcuoStore and AcuoMed on Virtual Machine software. BREAK 1430 to 1440 Exercises Configuration 1440 to 1630 Configure and understand Managed Shares, Applications, DICOM Database, Route, SCP, Called AE, External DICOM Device, Move Route Map, Route View Management 2

BREAK 1020 to 1030 Batch Move and Store Managers 1030 to 1130 Demonstrate the ability to monitor patient data moving in and out of the VNA by using Batch Move Manager and Batch Store Manager. Patient Management 1130 to 1200 Edit, merge, and delete the patient data. LUNCH 1200 to 1300 LUNCH Propagation and IOCM 1300 to 1330 Learn how patient data is kept in-sync in multiple systems/databases throughout the healthcare enterprise. Batch Update Manager 1330 to 1400 Monitor DICOM fix-it messages. EXERCISES: Patient Management IHE Audit Log Manager and the Recycle Bin 1400 to 1530 Perform patient edit, merge, and deletes to 1630 Review and configure the IHE Audit Log Manager. Retrieve deleted images. Review which images do and do not reside in the recycle bin. 3

Federation 0900 to 0930 Review and demonstrate the functionality of Federation and ability to query an unlimited number of external supported DICOM devices for image retrieval. Pre and Post Fetching 0930 to 1000 Understand retrieval of relevant prior studies both before and after imaging. Soundex and Name Normalization 1000 to 1020 Define and format of the naming complex for inbound C-Stores. BREAK 1020 to 1030 Reconciliation and Reconciliation Event Manager 1030 to 1200 Define and demonstrate purpose, flow and configuration of the reconciliation process. LUNCH 1200 to 1300 Stat Routes 1300 to 1330 Bypass the Reconciliation process during an emergency or trauma case. External SCU Authorization 1330 to 1400 Define external Service Class Users (SCUs) sending data to the VNA. Promiscuous versus. Nonpromiscuous. Storage Commit and Batch Commit Manager 1400 to 1430 Review the storage commitment process and configuration. Custom Tag Mapper 1430 to 1500 Learn about Tag Mapper capabilities and configuration. BREAK 1020 to 1030 DICOM and Metadata Replication Overview 1030 to 1100 DICOM replication between primary and secondary datacenters. Learn about DICOM replication and Metadata replication. XDS 1100 to 1200 Learn about Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing (XDS and XDS-I). Comparing XDS and XDS-I and how they integrate DICOM and non-dicom data within and outside of the enterprise. LUNCH 1200 to 1300 AcuoInsight 1300 to 1330 Learn about AcuoInsight. Web Access DICOM Objects (WADO) 1330 to 1400 View patient images within Patient Management. WADO installation and configuration within a virtual environment. Upgrade Process 1400 to 1500 Review and demonstrate version schema and upgrade process. Review latest version enhancements. BREAK 1500 to 1510 Troubleshooting and Tools 1510 to 1630 Review common troubleshooting tips and tricks. Demonstrate usage of the tools available within the VNA to diagnose the most common errors. 5
