4 Industry challenges More than ever before, regulations such as the European Union (EU) 4 th Anti-Money Laundering Directive (AML), the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II), and the US Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) are forcing FIs to focus on building a comprehensive, single view of their clients to verify identity and map relationship networks. as a The challenges facing financial institutions require them to not only collect more data and documents for their clients but also to ensure that the information they hold is accurate and up to date.
