Decoupling economic growth from environmental degradation - managing economic growth to be less resource intensive and less polluting Ensuring environmental adaptability - maintaining and enhancing the adaptive capacity of the environmental system preventing irreversible long-term damage to ecosystems and human health So let s bring this down to furniture and see why it is important that all industries strive for sustainability There has been a move in interior design to go GREEN, a new focus on environmentally friendly products and practices. While plastics and chemicals seemed like a good idea at one time, concerns about landfills, depleted natural resources and toxic off-gassing are now prompting the design industry to search for environmentally sound options. How: Replenish the forests that lumber is taken from use replenishable, managed forests Replace toxic glues and finishes with water-based products. Utilizing recycled materials in everything from furniture to fabrics, to tackable surfaces to A products Green Story is critical to designers and end users alike as end users are clamoring more and more for green products. The commercial side of industry (not the residential) is driving the switch. Specifiers and users must be able to tell how products are constructed. Manufacturers need to have written policies explaining how their products are made and how they as an organization are environmentally responsible. Sustainable design can, and does, deliver measurable productivity gains for a business. A bad workplace environment means people are out sick, they re not performing well, or they just don t want to come to work Employee productivity is a huge factor for every business. If you can show, for example, how you can improve productivity 12% with a sustainable workplace, then that company can either hire 12% fewer employees, or get that much more productivity. To help us get you what you want, please be as specific as possible with your request (a drawing really helps). Please be aware of the following guidelines: We ask you and your client to sign off on our final drawing\(s) before we can begin production. Lead times vary depending on design, but usually range from 4-8 weeks for initial orders We strive to provide a price quote within 72 hours. That pricing is valid for 90 days. All custom product sales are final. No changes or cancellations are allowed after the working drawings are signed and received by Bold. You will receive a model number for your custom product request. Please use this number when referring to your order, or when re-ordering. Replacement Parts If the occasion arises where you need a replacement part, please have the model number for the product and contact Customer Service at and we will be happy to assist you. Cancellations All custom product orders are final and not subject to changes or cancellations after working drawings have been signed and received by Bold. If you place an order without a required date, it is considered a standard lead-time and cannot be cancelled.
