1 Incorporated Engineer Courses The courses listed have been accredited against standards set by the Institutions of Civil, tructural and Highways & Transportation Engineers and the Institute of Highway Incorporated Engineers and endorsed by the EC UK. Courses marked with an asterisk (*) will need to be topped up with a period of after graduation, in order to meet the academic requirements for Incorporated Engineer status. This further learning can be achieved in a combination of ways full or part-time in HE, distance learning or work-based learning. The intake years from which graduates will be required to complete is shown in italic type. Please note that from Autumn 2004 institutions are no longer required by EC UK to accredit individual college HNC/D programmes. The JBM institutions have approved the HNC/D programmes awarded by Edexcel (BTEC) and QP and for this reason the formal accreditation periods shown in this booklet are being allowed to lapse and may not have been extended after this date but the courses continue to be recognised. A Higher National from the IEng listing will meet the educational requirements for an Technician. Mode of Course = Full Time = Part Time Courses are accredited for a given intake period normally on a five-yearly cycle although this may vary (see below). The years shown in the listings are the inclusive intake periods for which these courses are accredited. Where limited periods of two or one years are shown, this indicates the period of accreditation that is left before the next visit. ome Universities have stopped offering civil engineering programmes and this is why the intake year has not been extended. For example see entry for the of Hertfordshire. Accreditation periods since 1999 are shown in bold type.
