38 QUALITY UNDERLAY Since a good start sets the stage for success, a veneer flooring needs to be protected underneath against humidity by installing a damp screen. That way, you are sure you can enjoy your veneer flooring for a long time. 38

39 Installation INSTALLATION KIT PAR-KY is easy to install. Our installation kit provides all necessary tools to install your veneer flooring quickly and without any damage: expansion spacers to maintain expansion joints, a hitting block and a striking bar. Standard underlay The standard underlay (2mm) consists of foam and foil, and has a self-adhesive strip at the side to stick the edges of the foil together. It is best to attach the edges with a waterproof tape. Roll of 50 m 2 ( sq.ft) or 15 m 2 ( sq.ft) To be used for Underlay with aluminium This underlay reduces the reflection of noise and smoothes away blemishes. Always put the aluminium upwards and tape the edges with water resistant tape to avoid water damage to the boards. Roll of 15,07 m 2 ( sq.ft) To be used for Damp proof membrane The damp proof membrane is used for floors with an integrated cork layer. 40 Finishing SKIRTING AND PROFILES After the installation of the veneer flooring, the floor is finished with matching wooden skirtings. PAR-KY provides trendy 8 cm high skirtings, which can easily be shortened to 6 cm or even 2.5 cm. The cutter provided and the pre-cut guides turn shortening skirts into child s play, so all kinds of finishes are possible. 41 Maintenance and repair products EASY TO MAINTAIN To remove dirt, without damaging the lacquer, your veneer flooring is best cleaned with our cleaner. Moreover, this cleaner provides extra nutrients for your floor, keeping it nice for longer. EASY TO REPAIR For each kind of lacquer, PAR-KY has developed a seal spray to easily repair possible scratches and to avoid dirt penetrating. Scratches on coloured floors are rendered as good as invisible by rubbing in a coloured treatment. 41

43 The key advantages of your PAR-KY floor ECOLOGICAL AND SUSTAINABLE Opt for a healthy and sustainable floor At PAR-KY, respect for the environment is key. That is why we use our planet s natural resources sparingly, and why we limit the use of harmful substances as much as possible. Using wood with care For the production of PAR-KY veneer flooring, we need up to 25 times less wood than for solid flooring. With one m 3 of wood, we can produce 700 to 1000 m 2 of veneer flooring. In comparison: solid wood with a thickness of 15 mm has a useful net surface of 40 m 2. 1m 3 logs = 40 m 2 solid wood - thickness 15 mm = 700 to 1000 m 2 wood veneer Wood from sustainable forests Not only do we use less wood, we source our wood from sustainable forests. Two labels guarantee this origin. The Pure Wood charter is of great importance to the complete PAR-KY collection. In this charter we demand from each of our suppliers to help protect forests worldwide. That is your assurance our wood originates from well-managed forests. The FSC certificate is linked to our DELUXE collection. FSC is an international trademark which indicates a product originates from wellmanaged forests. Less harmful products All PAR-KY veneer floors are finished with an environmentally friendly, hardened lacquer with nearly no volatile organic substances emission. The veneer flooring is coloured with an antibacterial layer called Ultrafresh, which makes it impossible for bacteria to house in the grooves. PAR-KY DELUXE even takes it a step further, since no urea formaldehyde, which can cause cancer and asthma in high concentrations, is added. Eliminating the use of this chemical is unique in the World of wooden floors, giving you an extra healthy flooring. 43

You can find the handy installing instructions on each pack or you can download this manual on EIGHT LAYERS OF LACQUER The boards are finished with eight strong layers of lacquer, in three versions: Sealed satin: gloss of 20%, sealed and naturally lacquered. This board is extremely strong! Sealed matt: gloss of 10%, sealed and mat lacquered. This board is extremely strong! Brushed matt: gloss of 10%, brushed and mat lacquered, emphasizing the structure of the wood and enhancing the natural and luxurious look. 12 TO 15 YEARS OF WARRANTY PAR-KY veneer flooring is a product of the Decospan Group, European market leader in veneer production. Our extensive experience and focus on innovation contribute to the quality and reliability of our products. Since we are convinced of the quality of our veneer flooring, we grant a warranty from 12 to 15 years, depending on the lacquer finishing: 15 years for sealed collections 12 years for brushed collections NO NEED TO (RE)SANDING Contrary to solid wooden flooring, you never need to sand a PAR-KY veneer floor saving you plenty of dusty work, effort and money. The strong layers of lacquer render resanding completely unnecessary. STRONG IMPACT RESISTANCE HDF 1050 kg/m 3 The layer of veneer is glued onto an ultra-strong high density fiberboard (HDF). Combined with the 8 layers of lacquer, this results in a much higher resistance to dents than solid or lamel parquet. EASY TO MAINTAIN The Aqua Sealing Complete system ensures the bevels (V-grooves) to be coloured in the same colour as the horizontal surface of the board. The bevels are also lacquered after being coloured. That way, your floor is completely humidity proof and easy to maintain. 44
