ADAPT-Builder Express (EX) v3 Summary of New Features Structural Concrete Design Suite including: ADAPT-Modeler ADAPT-Floor Pro ADAPT-MAT ADAPT-SOG March ADAPT Corporation All rights reserved
Cracked Section Deflection - ADAPT-Floor Pro calculates the deflection of a floor system - Feature considers loss of bending stiffness due to cracking of either slab regions or beams - Formulation used in ADAPT-Floor Pro is rigorous, iterative, and accounts for loss of stiffness at the individual finite element cells over the entire floor system - Define cracking load combination - Design the floor - Calculate cracked deflection - In 3D results viewer, observe cracked deflection and reduced stiffness ratios View of Reduced Stiffness View of Cracked Deflection ADAPT Corporation All rights reserved
Column Strip / Middle Strip - ADAPT-Floor Pro provides the Column strip/middle strip option only if RC option is used - Between the user-defined column strip support lines, ADAPT-Floor Pro generates the new support lines as domain dividers as the middle strip automatically - Open ADAPT-Floor Pro in RC only mode - Define support lines over supports in both direction - Enable Column strip/middle strip option in Analysis/Design Options - Generate Design Sections Automatically to generate middle strips View of user-defined column strips View of column strips/middle strips ADAPT Corporation All rights reserved
Treatment of Beams - ADAPT-Floor Pro now distinguishes between regular floor systems and waffle/joist constructions - The program automatically recognizes sections that need to be designed as beams, unless overwritten by you to the contrary. - Define the type of slab as either regular floor system or as waffle/joist construction - Decide if all beams that are selected with the support lines shall be designed as beams or if each beam should be designed as defined by the user Support line going through beam is defined as Two-Way Slab Beam is recognized as beam and stirrups are calculated ADAPT Corporation All rights reserved
Rebar Centering and Position - ADAPT-Floor Pro adjusts the length of reinforcement bars and center the top bars over supports as well as the bottom bars in spans - The program dimensions the starting point of each bar on plan - Generate rebar drawing - Activate Adjust length and center top bars over support in Reinforcement Bar Lengths - Activate Adjust length and center bottom bars in span if bars in span have to be centered - To display the position of bars, activate Enter positions of bars on plan Rebar drawing before adjustments Centered rebar with positions of bars on plan ADAPT Corporation All rights reserved
Enhancements in 3D Viewer - ADAPT-Floor Pro allows the user to edit the contour lines including spacing and labeling in the 3D viewer - These options were only available in the 2D viewer before - View any solution in the 3D viewer - Alter contour line spacing and labeling with Contour Results under Result Display Settings Contour lines before altering Contour line spacing is reduced and labels are added ADAPT Corporation All rights reserved
Additional Improvements Enhanced Analysis and Design Options The definition of the boundary conditions at the far ends of the walls and supports is greatly simplified. As an option, the program can consider the contribution of prestressing limited to its impact on deflection and cracking, but disregard its contribution to strength of a section. As an option, the program can be instructed to disregard the reinforcement needed for serviceability check of the code, and report reinforcement that is required for strength only. As an option, the program performs the code-specified calculation for design moment to be larger than a multiple of cracking moment ADAPT Corporation All rights reserved
Additional Improvements New Building Codes REVIT Structure Bi- Directional link Reporting Shop drawing enhancement Punching shear check In addition to ACI-318 (1999), ACI-318 (2005), British- BS8110 (1997), Canadian-A23.3 (1994), European-EC2 (2004), Australian-AS3600 (2001), Indian-IS456 (2005 reprint) for conventionally reinforced, and IS1980 (2004 reprint) for prestressed concrete design codes, the program now features Canadian-A23.3 (2004) design code. The program provides bi-directional link between ADAPT-Floor Pro and REVIT Structure. REVIT Structure can be directly export its models to Floor Pro. Likewise, it can import models generated in Floor Pro. A single tabular report is now available for point/line/area loads of user defined load cases. The program displays the standard symbols for the number of strands in a tendon when the user selects this option for creating shop drawings. The program includes a more accurate method to determine column condition as either interior, end, edge, or end column ADAPT Corporation All rights reserved
