4 How to arrive BY PLANE The nearest airport is "Raffaello Sanzio" in Falconara, 15 km from Senigallia. From here it is possible to reach Senigallia by public transport or by taxi. BY TRAIN There are many trains from all over Italy which stop at Senigallia The railway station is at a few meters from the center of town. There are taxis and bus services in front of the station, connecting you to the whole town and neighboring villages. BY CAR Senigallia is located on the Adriatic coast, motorway A14, exit Senigallia. The A14 connects Senigallia to the whole of Italy.

7 Who we are.. Established in 1995, Agorà is located in the centre of Italy on the Adriatic coast near Ancona, chief town of the Marche region. The main purpose of our adult training centre is to provide lifelong learning to the people of our area, especially foreigner people, young people and the elderly. Besides, we support local businesses to fulfil their potential. Nowadays enterprises are a complex entity, which require the most suitable, fast and economic solutions possible to run the present complex economic situation. It is often very difficult to find different and coordinated competences. Agorà tries to offer the right response to training needs, and it is always in connection with the up-to-date needs and skills required by the labour market. AGORÁ Società Cooperativa a r.l. 8 The main activities Over the last few years, Agorà has developed and broadened its expertise in vocation training. Since 2003 it has obtained the accreditation status at the Marche Region in the following different categories: - Compulsory training - High level education - Long life learning

9 To achieve all these goals, our training centre provides a wide range of private and ESF courses in several fields Support to immigrant people, especially women, at risk of social exclusion Long-term care sector Balance of competences Traineeship for year-old people who have an apprenticeship contract Planning and organization of different courses for businesses of our area Safety at work Forestry and Arboriculture Training and Qualifications Promotion and valorisation of the typical products of our region Grundtvig projects in the fields of computing for the Elderly and home care services Computer Science Foreign languages

10 Forestry in Marche Region Marche, located in the central area of Italy, has a size of 9,963 km2 and a population of some 1.5 million inhabitants. The territory is characterized by inland mountains and a hilly region. Flat land lies along the Adriatic coast and the rivers. Rural areas account for 95% of the regional territory and host 81% of the population. More specifically, 65.5% of Marche is agricultural land; 21% forests; 9.5% natural areas; and, 3.9% artificial areas

11 Utilized Agricultural Area The estimated regional Utilized Agricultural Area (UAA) is approximately 512,000 ha out of which 80% remains available for cereals or other crops and around 7% is used for permanent pastures and meadows. Approximately 13% of the regional UAA is for permanent cultures. Forests and woods are composed of the following main trees: conifers (pines and firs) and broadleaves (beeches, oaks and hornbeams)

12 Training and forestry We are currently involved in organizing training courses in machinery management and machines functional safety training for a few agricultural and forestry associations located in our area. Most of their members have already attended courses in our Institution and we are willing to increase our skills and competences in this sector (how to promote sustainable forestry, forest based bio economy and forestry and environmental education. We also cooperate with a few professors of the department of biology and agriculture. For instance, we would like to organize some forestry and arboriculture courses including subjects like: Arboricultural management; Trees production and selection; Urban tree management; Amenity woodland management.

13 Forestry and arboriculture courses Thanks to this Project we would like to exchange good practices at European level and cooperate with European organizations already involved in Forestry and arboriculture. Some companies of our Region are also interested in developing competences for urban tree management and green areas at large.

14 AdFor activities During the duration of the project we intend to organize a pilot course for the people involved in this sector in order to offer training services and teach the most useful subjects regarding forestry and arboriculture. The most relevant training materials and the main results of the pilot training course will be included in the final outcomes of the project.

15 Meeting in Italy For all these reasons we are eager to organize the final project meeting in Italy. Meanwhile we are going to strengthen our relationships with local universities, agricultural and forest companies, teachers and trainers in addition to regional parks.
