Network of Towns Timetable of the project The Rumia Municipality would like to cordially invite you to participate in a project co-financed by the European Union under the Europe for Citizens programme, Strand 2: Democratic engagement and civic participation, Measure Networks of Towns. Short description of the project, including its aims Realisation period: Leader: Rumia Municipality Partners: Germany, Sweden, Lithuania, Latvia Estonia, Russia, Belarus, Poland. Project goal: 1. Creating new solutions, e.g. in relation to cooperation of NGOs, including sports organisations, employers/entrepreneurs 2. Strengthening the cooperation of local authorities (partners) of the project The project envisages 4 events: I. Debate: Common Europe Realisation period: debate on the future of Europe methods of building a more democratic Union, engagement of citizens in the development of the region and the
2 EU, strengthening of the social, economic and political unity 2. civic budgets 3. cooperation with NGOs, sports organisations [and] local authorities 4. sport 5. regional safety 6. development of entrepreneurship in the region Basketball tournament at the end of the debate: Fair Play Game for Europe: - teams from all partner countries (12 persons from each team) fair play tournament Number of persons citizens, invited guests from the region, partners, employee representatives, NGO representatives, institutions maintaining safety and order of the locality, local cooperation of the NGOs with the self governing localities, cultural institutions, sports organisations debate for crc. 150 persons. Number of organisations self governing body plus 2-3 organisations from each country; number of persons crc. 20 persons from partnership cities Organisations invited representatives from invited town halls, representatives from NGOs, representatives of employers (local/regional and partners) II. Cooperation market Realisation period: EU rules and directives relating to conducting business outside of the home country; regulations relating to import/export within the EU boundaries and outside seminar /lecture/ 2. National regulations relating to conducting business in partnership countries and Poland lecture 3. Economic zones, [industrial, types of business] presentation from local governing bodies/or representatives of employer organisations in the partner country regions 4. Exchange of experiences relating to development of industry and economy between the partners 5. Establishing cooperation between companies operating in the Leader s and Partners countries (regions) cooperation market, best practice exchange market, establishment of cooperation 1. Representatives of partner countries, e,g, from self governing bodies departments for enterprise,
3 supporting local companies; organisations/associations of entrepreneurs and employers operating in the regions 2. Local organisations supporting business, organisations surrounding business, commercetrade chambers, associations of employers, entrepreneurs 3. Study excursion an excursion to one of the partnership countries e.g. Lithuania or Sweden, where local governing body will attempt a task demonstrating development of their local enterprise and cooperation of local authorities with local organisations, Goal: establishing common solutions related to development of local business and cooperation between the localities and local NGOs. Establishing cooperation and signing of letters of intent between local organisations/associations Realisation period: 06/ (min 3 day excursion) 1. Cooperation between local governing bodies and local entrepreneurs 2. Cooperation between local governing bodies and local organisations acting for local society 3. Solving of problems related to local urban planning, creation of attractive conditions for enterprise development 1.
