4 1 Page 54 Kevin Vincent Bill Gvozdanovic WHEREAS Council has received the report from the Council Remuneration Committee AND WHEREAS the Committee recommends that the implementation plan be decided by Council NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Council s annual remuneration be effective as follows January January January AND FURTHER that a carallowance in the amount of75 00 per month be instituted for each Councillor effective January YEAS Councillors Anderson Curley Gvozdanovic Scripnick and Vincent NAYS Councillors Malette Marks and Saudino Denis Saudino Gary Scripnick THAT Council does hereby support the following parade route as part of the National Aboriginal Day celebrations to be held Monday June from 11 00am to approximately noon commencing at the Timmins Native Friendship Centre north on Spruce Street and east on Algonquin Blvd to the Hollinger Park AND FURTHER THAT a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Timmins Police Services John Curley Yves Malette THAT Council does hereby support an application to thelbo for a Special Occasion Permit for a community festival by Vit AMin J Productions to be held on Poplar Father Costello Drive Schumacher on the following dates and times Street from Second Avenue to 600 pm to100am July July am to100am July amto600 pm AND FURTHER THAT this event be exempted from City of Timmins Noise By accordance with Section 4B and Section 6to host this event law in AND FURTHER THAT liability insurance in the amount of2000 be provided naming the City of Timmins as aco insured AND FURTHER THAT a 1000 deposit be provided to ensure street clean up at the conclusion of the event The deposit will be returned upon the City being satisfied with the clean up John P Curley THAT Council does hereby approve the following parade route for the Parade of Lights official opening of the South Porcupine Summerfest 2004 Festivities commencing July at pm starting at the parking lot of Golden Avenue Public School and proceeding down Golden Avenue to Crawford Street along Crawford Street to Bruce Avenue around the lake front to Bloor Avenue up Bloor Avenue to Moore Street along Moore Street to Bruce Avenue and continuing on Bruce Avenue Avenue School lot to Main Street and returning to the Golden

5 Page 55 Kevin Vincent THAT Council does hereby approve closure of George Avenue between Rea Street and Waterloo Road from800am June to800am June for the Cancer Relay for Life AND FURTHER THAT liability insurance in the amount of 2 million dollars be provided naming the City of Timmins as aco insured Gary Scripnick Denis Saudino WHEREAS the DeBeers Victor Project is of great economic importance to the City of Timmins AND WHEREAS DeBeers has completed its environmental assessment for the project and is in the process of responding to issues raised under the EA AND WHEREAS Council is concerned that this economic opportunity may be put in jeopardy because of delays created by governmentregulatioris NOW THEREFORE BE IT resolved that Council for the Corporation of the City of Timmins does hereby petition the Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario to expedite this very important mining project that will create economic opportunities for a large number of communities in the District of Cochrane and James Bay area in the quickest time period possible in order that this project may receive its approvals and permits to commence work in the fall of 2004 AND FURTHER that copies of this resolution be sent to the Honourable Paul Martin Prime Minister of Canada the Honourable Dalton McGuinty Premier of Ontario the Honourable David Anderson Federal Minister of the Environment the Honourable Leona Dombrowsky Provincial Minister of the Environment the Honourable Rick Bartolucci Minister of Northern Development Bisson MPP Timmins James Bay Mines and Gilles Bill Gvozdanovic Seconded Yves Malette by THAT Council does hereby approve payment of the NEOMA 2004 Membership in the amount of 300 John P Curley THAT payment of accounts as listed on Sheet Nos 1 to 19 for the period of April 1 to April amounting to be hereby approved Yves Malette That Council for the Corporation of the City of Timmins does hereby appoint a Water Safety Committee to review existing policies protocols and physical infrastructures with the purpose of preventing any future vandalism to the City s water supply system And Further that the committee be comprised of the following representation r City of Timmins Council 2 Administration 2 Porcupine Health Unit 2 Ministry of the Environment 1 Timmins Police Services 1 AND the Mayor as an ex officio member
