5 Piezoelectricity ARVENI microgenerators are based on piezoelectricity effect. Piezoelectricity comes from latin piezen (=press) and electricity: piezoelectricity is the characteristic of certain materials (notably crystals, and some ceramics) that accumulates charges in response to applied mechanical strain. With mechanical pressure voltage potential can be measured, and under electrical field a material strain appears. So piezoelectricity is reversible, repeatable and without moving part. It is a solid state technology. 7 Successfull life-test pushings! that is what our harvester did withstand during our Q2/ 12 lifetest. It represents 100 pushes per day for 37 years life-time. After testing, we only can see some signs of wear, and electricity production is even slightly improving over the time. * * * * Temperature test was lead [-17 C; +80 C], it has shown a limited reversible power loss. In theory, our piezoelectric material are stable up to 120 to 180 C. *: test bench renovation Corrosion test (6 months outdoor) was also lead, and has shown total immunity of µg under normal conditions of temperature and humidity (including rain, storms ) unlike batteries, see pictures.
