Of Biology Associated professor in course of Basic Ecology My goals in teaching this course include introducing students to major concepts in ecology and in so doing, provide the students with a robust framework of the increasingly complex field of ecology upon which they can build This course is designed to present an introduction to current theories and practices in ecology and to teach students how to do ecological science in the field. Students are introduced 1) to the various questions (in a broad sense) asked by ecologists, 2) to the ideas (theories, models) from which hypotheses are suggested to answer the questions, and 3) to the ways in which ecologists go about gathering data to refute or support the proposed hypotheses. Specific ecological studies (from aquatic and terrestrial systems) are used to illustrate some of what has been learned about the natural world through the study of ecology. Thus, the course emphasizes the conceptual models by through which we attempt to understand complex biological systems, the facts upon which those models are based, and the processes through which we learn these facts. Carried out the sampling in the field together with the international expert on biological analysis. Identify (up to genus level) and evaluate collecting material from sampling sites during the period of June- September in field and laboratory ( macro-invertebrates and fish) Prepare proposal for next biological analysis Date: from - to In the academic year2008/2009 WUS- Austria / Course Development Program + Project coordinator - Ichthyology course Under the project coordinator responsibilities the course of Ichthyology will be implemented. The design of the course is prepared by support of IGB-Berlin Institute of Water ecology. Date: from - to June- August 2007 AGRIFOR Consult-led-consortium Further Institutional Support to Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning Short Term Local Expert in Hydrobiology My primary task was to assist in compilation of the list of locally and EU-wide important aquatic species, identification of the most important sites for their protection and definition of the measures needed for their protection Also I assist in training ministry s staff on sampling, monitoring and classification of aquatic fauna as indicators for river water quality.
