2 3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION This product is not classified as a hazardous substance for humans or the environment in accordance with E.U. criteria. Risk of fire and explosion: Powder concentrations of more than g/l in an atmosphere with at least 12% Oxygen vol. may form a flammable mixture. When powder is handled, the accumulation of high voltage static electricity is possible. Therefore, it is advised that suitable precautions are taken, including the complete interconnection and earthing of the equipment, as well as inerting with a rare gas (less than 10% oxygen vol.). 4. FIRST AID Inhalation: The long-term inhalation of dense powder may cause irritation. Move to a non-contaminated zone. If the symptoms persist, seek medical advice. Skin contact: Rub or wipe softly to remove the product. Flush with water and soap to eliminate the remains of the product. If this causes irritation, seek medical advice. Wash contaminated clothing. Eye contact: Mild eye irritation. Flush eyes with copious amounts of water. Do not allow victim to rub eyes. If the irritation persists, seek medical advice. Ingestion: In the event of irritation or discomfort, seek medical advice, as well as if large amounts have been ingested. 5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES Extinguishing media: Chemical powder (B-C), Carbon Dioxide, Atomised water, Foam. Method to follow: Evacuate the area and fight the fire by maintaining a safety distance in a position so that the wind distances the combustion products. Avoid creating dust clouds of the product. Hazardous products in the combustion process: CO, CO 2 and if the combustion is incomplete, irritating vapours. Protective equipment: Fire fighting equipment, and, if necessary, autonomous respiratory equipment. 3 6. MEASURES IN THE EVENT OF ACCIDENTAL SPILLAGE Collect the product in containers, in order to transport it to its final destination. Avoid the product entering water supplies or drains. Shut off the area, preventing staff from entering unless strictly necessary. Avoid creating dust, dampening the product if possible. 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE 7.1. Handling. It is a non-toxic product, but it is a flammable powder. Avoid the presence of dust in the work zone. If a dust cloud is created, avoid ignition points. Do not smoke in work zone. The use of standard dust masks is advised Storage. There are no special requirements while the product is in its shipping containers and these are in good condition. If it is stored in silos, bins or similar, it is an essential requirement to inert with an atmosphere with at least 10% of Oxygen vol. and to avoid the accumulation of static electricity. 8.
