Ostara designs, builds and sells a new generation of water treatment systems, creating value from waste by recovering nutrients (phosphorus and ammonia) from wastewater and transforming them into a high-value, slow-release, environmentally friendly fertilizer called Crystal Green. Innovation : Ostara has succeeded in creating a valuable fertilizer product from municipal wastewater while eliminating the operational issues associated with struvite formation. Employees : 5 Creation : February 2010 CEO : Yves Duval Activities : Envolure is in the business development and marketing of innovative analytical solutions for the characterization of residual waters and organic wastes on the basis of a technology combining the use of fluorescence signals and microplate carriers. MOU to further develop direct characterization of sludge from wastewater treatment plants using fluorescence signals and to develop a microplate allowing the direct determination of multiple parameters identified by Veolia Environnement for the description of the quality of clear water. Innovation : From biotech to cleantech, Envolure has adapted diagnostic tools to environmental matrices. The technology enables on-site screening of organic residues providing easy access to relevant information for the optimized valorization of these residues (quicker, faster and cheaper around 10 times ).

MOU to test the technology in real conditions. Portuguese start-up. Innovation : Efficient air treatment unit with extremely competitive capital expenditure and very efficient operation costs. Employees: 5 Creation: June 2010 CEO: Hugues de Bantel Activities: The CoSMo Company (Complex Systems Modeling) is a France-based spinoff which develops a leading and innovative software platform dedicated to modeling and simulation of complex systems. Innovation: Urban modelling, that considers cities as an interconnection of overlapping networks (for transportation, water, waste, energy) is an important tool to help cities develop in the most efficient and sustainable way. The software technology designed by Cosmo is the only one which allows the integration of heterogeneous multiscale models of complex systems. It is a very efficient tool to create such models for cities.
