2 Lebanon Commitment towards Green Energy 2020 objective is to have 12% of electricity produced from Renewable Energy After Paris Agreement COP21 signed by 180 countries including Lebanon, 2030 objective is to have 15% electricity produced from Renewable Energy Lebanon, by signing the Kyoto protocol in November 2006 and the Paris Agreement in 2016 has committed to reduce the CO2 emission Pollution in Lebanon is mostly generated by transportation (45%), industry (25%), others (30%) 2

4 UNDP Together Towards Sustainable Development Initiative Creation of a Lobbying Group formed by private sector players ready to work together to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 5 The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) At the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit on 25 September 2015, world leaders adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which includes a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and tackle climate change by The SDGs call for worldwide action among governments, businesses and civil society to end poverty and create a life of dignity & opportunity for all by

7 Creating Awareness In May, June and July 2016, Fransabank sponsored a daily Green program on LBCI entitled بيئتك. نق ي The program gave details related to environmental issues as well as implementation of Go Green strategies. 7

15 Fransabank s internal commitment Environmental and Social Policy Pli Fransabank has implemented an Environmental & Social Policy which consists in taking into account the social & environmental impact of a project and not only the ROI Assignment of Environmental Risk Category to each project Filling of an Environmental and Social Due Diligence checklist If projects have impact on the environment, Fransabank will agree with the clients on corrective measures to mitigate risks 15

19 Participation and Speaking at International Events Conference of Parties COP 21 - December 2015 Paris Agreement was negotiated by 195 countries dealing with greenhouse gases emissions mitigation, adaptation and finance starting in the year Itwasopenedforsignatureon22April2016(EarthDay)ina ceremony in New York City. As of September 2016, 180 members have signed the treaty, 27 of which have ratified it of which the US, China and Norway.
