5 TECHNICAL TERMS & TOOLS Pavement Condition Index (PCI) Numerical indicator of ride quality of sections of paved streets on scale of 100 (excellent) to 0 (failed), based on smoothness of the pavement s surface, which also indicates its structural integrity. StreetSaver Software Online pavement management software developed by MTC and used by all 9 Bay Area counties to track PCI. Includes option to build scenarios based on funding level strategies. Federally approved and required for certain funding sources. Berkeley Streets: Pavement Management Program 5
