4 Structure of Degree and Degree Requirements Full-time study = 36 units per year (8 topics x 4.5 units) All students must complete 108 units towards the degree (3 years full time) The 108 units is made up of: units of core topics - 18 units of designated Archaeology elective topics units of designated non-archaeology elective topics, comprising 13.5 units at 1 st level and 27 units at 2 nd and 3 rd levels

7 Student Workload A standard system of unit points, based on student workload Normally 1 unit point = approximately 2 hours of student effort per week Includes both time spent in class and individual study time Topics are worth 4.5 unit topics = approximately 9 hours per week, therefore 4 topics x 9 hours = 36 hours per week
