Nutrient Management & Efficiency Technologies NutriSphere-NH3 and SureFire Tower 100 System: The right combination to protect nitrogen applied as anhydrous ammonia.
NutriSphere-NH3 from Verdesian Life Sciences is specifically designed to protect nitrogen applied as anhydrous ammonia from being lost through nitrification. NutriSphere-NH3 must be applied with a dual-injection system, and SureFire Ag Systems has developed the right equipment to make it work for your toolbar. NutriSphere-NH3 is a formulation of the proven NutriSphere-N Nitrogen Fertilizer Manager. When applied through the SureFire Tower 100 System, NutriSphere-NH3 provides months of protection for anhydrous ammonia against nitrogen loss from leaching and denitrification.
The SureFire Tower 100 System is designed to give accurate and even row-to-row distribution of NutriSphere-NH3 at a rate of 32 Oz./A. The system can easily be customized to fit different application bars and adjusted for varying conditions in the field such as application speed and temperature. The overall result: heightened confidence and an improved user experience. Tank size and acreage capacity The Tower 100 System is available with two tank sizes: 55 gallons covering 220 acres at 32 Oz./A 110 gallons covering 440 acres at 32 Oz./A In addition to the main product tank, each system is equipped with a 3-gallon rinse tank that can be filled with water or RV antifreeze to allow the system to be flushed when not in use for a few days and protect the system from freezing.
Low-flow electromagnetic flowmeter The SureFire Tower 100 System uses an electromagnetic flowmeter designed to accurately measure flows down to 8 Oz./Min. The system s constant flow pump and electromagnetic flowmeter allow for precise amounts of material to be applied regardless of speed at a 98+ percent accuracy rate. The flowmeter measures the velocity of the liquid to detect flow, which means accuracy is independent of the viscosity or density of the fluid. This translates to accurate flow every time, regardless of temperature. Dual metering tube distribution The SureFire Tower 100 System incorporates a dual metering tube distribution system with plumbing kits containing everything needed to distribute product from the flowmeter outlet down to the ground application device. The low flow to each row is evenly distributed through metering tubes that have openings of and in diameter. An orifice that could distribute this flow would be or less in diameter, a size that s easily plugged. A metering tube with four to five times larger diameter greatly reduces the chances of plugging. The metering tube will have a 10 to 75 percent greater flow range over the same pressure range vs. an orifice. The SureFire Tower 100 System metering tube (top) will greatly reduce the chance of plugging vs. a more traditional orifice (bottom). The use of two tubes to each row dual tube distribution means the system has the ability to handle a wide variation of rates and speeds (from 5 to 10 mph), under a broad range of temperatures. Dual metering tube distribution allows flexibility in application, with three flow options, helping to control flow at varying levels of viscosity. Product can be set to flow through either the small or large tube individually, or through both tubes at the same time. Flow indicators The flow for each row passes through a flow indicator, which has one or two balls that float and indicate flow. This feature offers an immediate visual indication of flow to each row. Electric section valves Implements 40 feet or wider can be split into two sections with electric section valves to allow section control. Standard single section setups are equipped with an electric row shut-off valve allowing the pump to continue running when application stops at the end of the field, which means a quicker return to target rate when application resumes. Users can set up 16- or 24-row systems with two section valves, so half of the applicator can be shut off to avoid overlap.
Dual-injection knife and point style options The SureFire and Verdesian teams worked with an established equipment manufacturer to develop shanks and knife points designed to deliver NutriSphere-NH3 in a steady stream, ½-inch directly above the anhydrous. The points are interchangeable on the shank and are available in four different styles. These styles range in aggressiveness to fit specific soil types, management practices and application timings. System control flexibility The SureFire Tower 100 System can be controlled by the following: John Deere Rate Controller Ag Leader Liquid Product Control Module Case IH Pro 700 with AccuControl SureFire Commander II Controller Trimble Field-IQ Rate and Section Control Module Separate controllers To ensure accurate application control and monitoring, one rate controller will control the anhydrous ammonia application and a separate rate controller will control the NutriSphere-NH3 application. About SureFire Ag Systems Founded in 2007, SureFire Ag Systems, based in Atwood, Kansas, specializes in onboard liquid application solutions.
