27 Impact of this demonstration unit unit is operating for more than 2 years self-supporting was vandalism- and shockproof So it is an integrated solution for water problems in rural areas which does no suffer from failures and running without any hazardous chemicals which is the key feature! Based on this success an improved, low energy unit Is installed in Morocco in a very small and rural settlement. The groundwater sources are here not suitable for human consumption due to high concentration of bacteria. Shell Global Solutions 27

28 Key lessons learned Perform a site-visit and meet local stakeholders in a very early state of the project (gain and keep(!) commitment from all stakeholders) Assess the local situation (electricity, feed water, source, flow etc. Get local champions (local contractors, focal point) Discuss customs issues in an early stage, local purchase the unit! Perform full commissioning check in the Netherlands Be in the country when the units arrives at customs!!!!!!!, Be at site when the unit arrives at site, train locals!!!! Oversee installation and perform initial training on the job Include local stakeholders during start-up and provide maintenance guidelines Shell Global Solutions 28
