2 Site Waste Management Plan (SWMP) London Road East Waste Transfer Station 1.0 INTRODUCTION This Site Waste Management Plan (SWMP) has been developed to enable the insert name of Contractor to efficiently manage waste materials produced through the life of the project in accordance with construction best practices and to generally accord with principles of the (now repealed) Site Waste Management Plan Regulations It also covers waste materials brought onto site for use in the project. This SWMP applies to all activities throughout the project. The Plan includes: brief details of the project including who is responsible for maintaining this SWMP (Section 2.0); a declaration signed by the principal parties to manage waste efficiently and legally (Section 3); a record of who the SWMP has been distributed to and when and why the document was reviewed (Section 4); information transferred from pre-contract documents supplied by the client and designer (Section 5.0); evidence that the Duty of Care checks have been carried out on all the waste managed on this project (Section 6.0); a comparison of the predictions with the actual waste removed, deviations from the Plan, estimate of the cost savings by operating the SWMP and the declaration that the Plan has been properly managed (Section 7.0); the predictions and subsequent monthly quantities of waste produced on the project (Appendix 1); the Duty of Care documentary evidence for each of the waste streams (Appendix 2). The controlled copy, held by (insert name of person responsible for updating this SWMP), must be available for inspection to authorised officers of the Environment Agency or the Planning Authority (Buckinghamshire County Council). We must carry out these checks and receive the documentary evidence before the waste goes off-site. WASTE DETAILS The List of Wastes codes can be found in: (insert name of document usually relates to the list of waste (EWC) codes) WASTE CARRIER The Carrier s registration details are found on the certificate (Ensure details match the contractor you are using and that the certificate is in date). The online checks on the waste carriers are carried out here for England & Wales at: Use a (insert Principal Contractor ) Waste Transfer Note (number of note) for Inert and Non-Hazardous Waste, and a Hazardous Waste Consignment Note (supplied by the contractor/regulator) for Hazardous Waste. DISPOSAL SITE The (insert Principal Contractor ) will find out from the waste carrier where they are taking the waste. The (insert Principal Contractor ) will request a copy of the relevant sections of the permit (front page showing permit number and the section covering the types of waste accepted) held by the site receiving the waste. The (insert Principal Contractor ) will check that the site is permitted to receive the type of waste that is being sent. This information is recorded on Tables 6.1 and 6.2.
