1 Bag Filter Housings Solving your need for greater filtration efficiency Eaton manufactures bag filter housings and filter bags to global standards for industries around the world. In recent years, a number of changes have been made to the manufacturing process to raise the level of quality delivered to our customers. The selection of single bag filter housings ranges from those suitable for exacting absolute filtration applications to high-quality housings designed, especially for cost-sensitive applications and everything in between. Multi-bag filter housings that accommodate up to 36 individual filter bags for flow rates of up to 6,341 GPM (1,440 m 3 /h) are available in a number of different designs. Eaton is helping customers reduce process costs through its development of a unique line of proprietary filter bags and elements that offer a compelling, cost-effective alternative to more expensive filtration systems. Customers can choose from a complete line of single or multi-bag filter housings designed to meet the needs of the most demanding applications. Eaton offers a full range of filter bags: more than 1,500 choices in all, from economically sewn filter bags for standard applications, to welded, multi-layered bags for more demanding applications.

2 Bag Filter Housings Applications Automotive Filtration of pre-treatment bath, filtration of e-coat, top coat and clear coat, primer, paint ring line filters, parts cleaning fluids, drawing compounds, lubricants, metal working fluids and pump intake filters. Chemical Catalyst recovery, removal of pipe scale, polishing of aqueous process fluids, alkalis, acids and solvents, filtration of emulsions and dispersions, gel removal from resins. Activated carbon or catalyst removal in the fine chemicals industry is a typical example of a demanding application in chemical processing. Eaton filter bags meet the application requirements for high-filtration efficiency, yet also offer long service life and reliability. Electronics Wafer and chip processing, electronic etching baths, photo-chemical polishing, and high-purity water filtration and pre-filtration of various membrane filtration processes to improve their cost-effectiveness. Eaton filter bags demons trate the required purity, efficiency and consistent performance. Food and beverage Filtration of wine, spirits and beer, removal of particles from edible oils, removal of carbon black from cellulose, slime removal in gelatin, liquid sugar, thick juice, corn syrup polishing, starch processing, milk processing and soft drinks. Many Eaton filter bags conform to FDA and EC food processing standards and can meet the unique and varied demands of these applications. Paint and lacquer Removal of agglomerates, removal of paint coagulates, solvent filtration, removal of storage contaminants, filling lines, paint mixing lines and monomer purification. QIC-LOCK opening mechanism is safe to use. An interlock prevents opening until the housing is entirely vented. QIC-LOCK opening mechanism is simple and fast to operate. Standing in place, the operator can rotate the hand wheel and open the cover. There is no requirement to have full movement and access around the housing or use any tools as with conventional bolted closures. QIC-LOCK opening mechanism has a rugged design, precision machining assures long life and repeatable operation. A special coating protects the spindle surface from wear and corrosion. The design is approved for all pressure housing design codes. QIC-LOCK opening mechanism doesn t just make life easier for operators; there are significant cost benefits to be realized with greatly reduced downtime and lower maintenance costs. 1. Filter element change necessary open the safety interlock to ensure simultaneous pressure relief. 3. Open the cover aided by spring-assisted mechanism. 5. Close the cover. 2. Rotate the spindle using the hand wheel to open the V-clamp into the end position. 4. Change filter element. 6. Close the V-clamp by rotation of the spindle. 7. Close the safety interlock and the housing is ready to go back on-line. Units come standard with filter bag size 01 or 02 stainless steel restrainer baskets. Sizes 03 and 04 available in EMEA. This single bag filter housing features a unique one-piece body design that eliminates the traditional body-to-bottom cap circumferential weld. Units come standard with filter bag size 01 or 02 stainless steel restrainer baskets. 11 POLYLINE Single Bag Filter Housing Choice of PPL or PVDF construction for ultra-pure or corrosive applications Eaton s POLYLINE single bag filter housing is an all-plastic, rugged polypropylene or PVDF construction for superior corrosion resistance. The glass fiber reinforced polypropylene withstands high-pressure and temperature combinations. This single bag filter housing has no metal components to rust, corrode or contaminate the process media and is ideal for contamination sensitive or severely corrosive applications. Units come standard with filter bag size 01 or 02 polypropylene or size 02 PVDF restrainer baskets. Features All plastic construction with smooth interior surfaces makes it easy to clean Compression hold down creates 360 degree sealing between the filter bag and the bag filter housing Removable, no tools required spin-off cover for quick filter bag change-outs. 25 MAXILINE MBF HD Multi-Bag Filter Housing Holds up to 24 filter bags in a reliable, cost-effective design Eaton s MAXILINE MBF HD multi-bag filter housing features a cost effective, hand wheel operated davit assembly cover and offers up to 24 filter bags in one multi-bag filter housing for very high flow rates and high dirt load applications. This multi-bag filter housing is equipped with a robust hand wheel operated davit assembly cover. Simply loosen the swing bolts, turn the davit hand wheel and swing the cover aside to open. 31 DUOLINE Multi-Bag Filter Housing System Duplex units for continuous filtration processes DUOLINE units with SIDELINE housings Eaton s DUOLINE multi-bag filter housing systems are duplex units for continuous filtration processes where the system flow cannot be shut down for filter bag change-outs. This multi-bag filter housing system consists of two single bag filter housings fitted together at the inlet and outlet by a butterfly valve or ball valve assembly. The dual housing system allows the filtration process to run continuously even during filter bag change-outs. Units come standard with filter bag size 02 stainless steel restrainer baskets. 33 MODULINE Multi-Bag Filter Housing System Eaton s MODULINE multi-bag filter housing systems are double or modular multi-bag units designed for applications where the flow rate is too high for a single bag filter housing. Modular system for continuous flow capability, higher efficiency and lower costs This multi-bag filter housing system provides a compact and efficient assembly of two up to eight single bag filter housings. Its space-saving design can be readily expanded with additional housing units and extra banks to provide the highest level of flexibility for process requirements. The footprint is smaller than duplexed multi-bag filter housings. Units come standard with filter bag size 02 stainless steel restrainer baskets. 38 /////////////////////// TECHNICAL INFORMATION Bag Mechanically Filter Housing Cleaned Accessories Filters & Strainer 01 Restrainer baskets 07 Heavy-duty, electro-polished SS 316, perforated plate baskets (included with housing) allow use of filter bags and HAYFLOW filter elements up to differential pressures of 51 psi (3.5 bar). Available in all standard sizes, fitting all Eaton bag filter housings. Specially designed restrainer baskets, including construction options such as HASTELLOY or Epoxy coated, are available. 08 Standard baskets can be used in combination with adaptor rings for retrofitting other types of housings. 02 LOFNETIC magnets Magnet assemblies are inserted into the filter bag during filtration. They are a combination of bag positioner fitted in the center with a magnetic bar(s). Filter bag lifetime is extended by retaining magnetic particles, such as chips and fines, preventing deposition onto the filter media. They also retain finer magnetic dust when using filter bags with coarser retention rating. LOFNETIC magnets are available in size 01 and 02 filter bags using one or two SS 316-covered magnetic bars. 03 Insertion tools Highly recommended for all installations and mandatory for some, insertion tools ensure correct positioning of the filter bag within the basket and eliminate any bobbing movement of the filter bag caused by uncontrolled back pressure. This avoids any chance of the filter bag bursting. ACCUGAF, PROGAF and LOFCLEAR 500 filter bags need to be equipped with an insertion tool. A special, new collar design firmly fixes the insertion tool inside the filter bag during filtration. They are available in sizes 01 and Leg assemblies Height-adjustable leg assemblies are standard for size 01 and 02 TOPLINE, FLOWLINE and SIDELINE single bag filter housings and are optional for ECOLINE single bag filter housings. Wall mounting brackets are also available. 05 Displacement balloons Inserting a displacement balloon inside the filter bag minimizes the amount of residual liquid present in the filter bag and reduces product loss. This eases the changing of the filter bag, eliminating the need for expensive, pressure-aided draining systems. A special, new collar design firmly positions the balloon inside the filter bag. The SS 316 balloons maximum Δp is 230 psi (15.9 bar). They are available in sizes 01 and Manifold modules Eaton standard pipe modules are available in SS elbows, flange reductions, flanged T sections and flange manifolds can be easily assembled to make DUOLINE or MODULINE mulit-bag filter housings based on FLOWLINE*, SIDELINE or TOPLINE size 01 or 02 single bag filter housings. Adapter heads for open filtration Used in conjunction with SNAP-RING filter bags in gravity feed, open systems. Adapter heads are available in SS 316 and polypropylene with a 1.5 NPT (BSP) connection for pressures to 20 psi (1.4 bar). Gaskets and O-ring seals As standard, Eaton metal bag filter housings are fitted with Buna-N O-rings. Plastic housings have Viton O-rings. Other material options, such as EPDM, Viton, PTFE encapsulated Viton or silicone rubber, are available as flat gaskets. The options offer a variety of chemical and thermal resistances to meet a multitude of uses and applications. 09 Mesh strainers Bag filter housings may be fitted with SS 316 mesh lined strainers in place of baskets to convert them to strainer filters. Mesh strainers are available in four standard sizes: 01, 02, 03 and 04. Retention ratings are 25, 50, 100, 150, 250, 400 and 800 µm, respectively. 10 Hold-down rings ECOLINE, SIDELINE, FLOWLINE, POLYLINE and MAXILINE MBF bag filter housings are fitted with different hold-down rings (included with housing).
