1 MAXIS Inquiry for DWP/MFIP Employment Services Providers Classroom Support Materials & Guide
2 MAXIS Navigation Transmit Keys transmits data to the mainframe Far right Enter key on the keyboard or Far right Control key on the keyboard. New Line or Carriage Return Key Moves the cursor to the first updateable field in the next line. Tab key Shift-Tab Keys Moves the cursor forward to the next updateable field. Moves the cursor backward to the previous updateable field. End, Delete, Backspace, and Home Keys Erases the characters right of the cursor to the end of the field. Deletes the character above the cursor. Erases what is to the left of the cursor. Moves the cursor to the first updateable field MAXIS Inquiry for ES Workers Training May 2015
3 on the panel. MAXIS Password Requirements Contain at least one alpha character. Contain at least one numeric character. Contain at least one (1) of the following special characters: # : = -!. %? _ * &. The special character CANNOT be the first or the last character of the password. Keep for a minimum of 5 days. Be used for a maximum of 30 days. Cannot contain 3 of the same characters in a row (for example, r@bbbit3). Cannot be reused for at least 6 password cycles (changes). May contain both upper and lower case alpha characters. Important: If you fail to enter your password correctly after three consecutive tries or five tries in a 24 hour period, MAXIS suspends your logon ID. Changing Your MAXIS Password 1. At the State of MN screen: REQUEST: ===> Transmit. 2. Enter your Logon ID: LOGON ID: ===> _ 3. Enter current password: PASSWORD: ===> Current Password Tab. 4. Enter new password: NEW PASSWORD: ===> New Password. 5. At ENTER TWICE, enter new password again. ===> New Password. Transmit. MAXIS Logon Instructions - Inquiry Region 1. At the State of MN screen: REQUEST: ===> See your IT staff. Transmit. 2. Enter your Logon ID: LOGON ID: ===> _ Tab. 3. Enter your password: PASSWORD: ===> Your Password Transmit. 4. At the top of the screen type: See your IT staff. Transmit. You are now at the MAXIS Self Menu in the Inquiry region. To Logoff: Function: LOGO then Transmit. Blank screen: LOGOFF then Transmit. 4 Person Search Exercise Find the following client in MAXIS using the PERS function. Last: First: Gender: Eunich Eugene Male DOB: SSN: Standard Reference Number use for the MEMB panel Note: This is common practice among all counties, but it is not policy. Coding the reference number field differently from these standards does not affect eligibility in any way. Applicant: 01 Spouse: 02 Children: All others: 20 and up The reference number is simply a number that MAXIS uses to connect a person with a particular case number. It is easily confused with the Relationship to Applicant code because sometimes they match. They are very different codes and should not be confused. About the Function Keys: Command-Line Navigation: F1 F3 Use on a field to get a list of codes. Sometimes use it on a worker ID to get worker information. Exits back to the previous screen. 5 FSS CATEGORIES, MAXIS CODING, DEFINITIONS & PLAN TYPE FSS Category Ill or Incapacitated* Mentally Ill* Developmental Disability* Participants with IQ below 80* Learning Disabled* Unemployable Needed in the home Special Medical Criteria MAXIS Panel DISA EMPS EMPS EMPS EMPS EMPS EMPS EMPS Definition Participants who are ill, injured, or incapacitated MUST provide professional certification of an illness, injury, or incapacity that is expected to last more than 30 days and severely limits the participant s ability to obtain or maintain suitable employment. Participants who are mentally ill and the condition severely limit the participant s ability to obtain or maintain suitable employment. Participants who are developmentally disabled and the condition severely limit the participant s ability to obtain or maintain suitable employment. Participants with an IQ below 80 and the condition severely limit the participant s ability to obtain or maintain suitable employment. Participants with a learning disability and the condition severely limit the participant s ability to obtain or maintain suitable employment. Participants, who do not meet the criteria for any other FSS category, but appear to have multiple and severe issues that impact their ability to work. See ESM 11.6 for more information on determining eligibility. Participants who are needed in the home MUST provide verification that they are needed to provide care for another member of the assistance unit, a relative in the household, or a foster child in the household who has a professionally certified illness or incapacity that is expected to continue for more than 30 days. Participants with a child or an adult in the household who meets the special medical criteria for home care services or a home and community-based waiver services program, severe emotional disturbance, or serious and persistent mental illness. Participants who are legal non-citizens in the United States 12 months or less.
