TEACHING Assistant Professor, Labor Studies and Employment Relations Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations 2014-present Current Labor Problems. By adding theory and historical context to an examination of current events in domestic and global political economies, this course aids students in identifying contemporary issues in the field of labor studies. Work, Society and Quality of Life. Around the world both the nature of work and the rewards obtained from work are changing dramatically. This course explores these changes using dynamic active learning methods that are increasingly common in workplaces. The course asks undergraduate students to analyze (1) the degree to which human differences shape a person s perspective on the world, (2) contemporary global issues from a multidisciplinary perspective, (3) issues of social justice across local and global contexts (2014-present). Identity Politics and Labor Market Discrimination. This course examines traditional social constructs such as race, gender and ethnicity, and their relationship with the workplace, society and its formal and informal governing institutions. Although there is specific multi-disciplinary focus on the experiences of African-American, Latino, Asian- American and female workers, the discussion expands to cover broader issues of 3

4 inequality and gender identity in the workplace, including discussion of traditionally unprotected categories of minority workers, such as those in the LGBTQ community (2014-present).
