6 WE VE ANSWERED SOME OF YOUR MOST COMMON FAQ S. What are the entry requirements for a CMI qualification? For levels 2-7 there are no formal qualifications required. The level undertaken will depend on the individual s experience and job role. In most cases, they will already be a manager or leader with the ability to apply the skills and experience learned during their qualification. Please note: Level 8 learners must hold a Level 7, or equivalent qualification, and must hold/have held a position in senior management for at least 3 years. How long will a qualification typically take? The length of study time will depend on the units and delivery method chosen. Learning methods differ between centres, however as a rough guide: Award: 1-3 months Certificate: 3-6 months Diploma: 6-12 months Extended Diploma: months What support will we receive from CMI? Example roles might include Supervisor, Team Leader, Project Officer, Shift Supervisor, Foreperson and Shift Manager. 12 LEVEL 5 OPERATIONS/DEPARTMENTAL MANAGER APPRENTICESHIP The Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager Apprenticeship has been designed for middle managers who have responsibilities for inputting into the strategic planning, creation and delivery of operational plans, as well as for leading and managing teams, change and resources. FUNDING AVAILABLE Who is it for? Middle Managers within an organisation, example roles include Operations, Regional or Divisional Manager, Store Manager or Head of Department and a variety of specialist managers. Responsibilities: Inputting into strategic planning, creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, supporting people through coaching & mentoring. FOLLOWING COMPLETION, THEY WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING MEMBERSHIP: MCMI MEMBER* CMgr MCMI CHARTERED MEMBER* *Potential grade also based on experience Qualification level: Level 5 / Diploma. Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship, providing the individual has at least three years management experience, then they will become a Chartered Manager. 13 LEVEL 6 CHARTERED MANAGER DEGREE APPRENTICESHIP Designed by employers in partnership with CMI, the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship offers an opportunity like no other: world-class business education, work-based learning and ongoing professional development that results in the prestigious Chartered Manager status. FUNDING AVAILABLE Who is it for? Senior managers within an organisation. Example roles might include, Head of Department, Operations Manager or anyone with significant management responsibilities. Responsibilities: Taking responsibility for people, projects, operations and/or services to deliver long term success, with the expectation that they will deliver impact, behave ethically and demonstrate commitment to continual learning and development. Qualification level: Level 6 / Degree. Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship, providing the individual has at least three years management experience, then they will become a Chartered Manager. Cost: This apprenticeship standard has been allocated a maximum funding cap of 27,000, which is the anticipated full cost for delivering this standard and the end point assessment. 14 LEVEL 7 SENIOR LEADER MASTER S DEGREE APPRENTICESHIP The Senior Leader Master s Degree Apprenticeship combines a master s degree, apprenticeship and the option to achieve Chartered Manager or Chartered Fellow professional recognition. It is designed to, develop the strategic leadership skills of those responsible for the overall performance and long-term sustainability of their organisations. FUNDING AVAILABLE Who is it for? It is designed for any individual moving into a senior or strategic management role. This can include General Managers, Senior Managers, Section Leaders, Executives, Directors, COO, CFO, CEO, CIO roles, and senior military officers. Responsibilities: A strategic leader with senior management responsibility, which may include formal governance/director responsibilities. Responsible for setting strategy, direction and vision, for providing a clear sense of purpose and driving strategic intent. Qualification level: Master s Degree (Level 7). 15 END POINT ASSESSMENT. The End Point Assessment (EPA) is the culmination of the apprenticeship. It measures the skills, knowledge and behaviours of each apprentice and grades their performance against the apprenticeship standard. As an independent Apprenticeship Assessment Organisation (AAO), CMI will carry out the EPA against the assessment plan we also offer an optimised booking process to accelerate the drawdown of final funding for each apprentice. SCQF LEVEL 6 IN FIRST LINE MANAGEMENT These qualifications have been developed for supervisors and first line managers who have operational responsibility for a defined area of activity, and are looking to build on existing skills and knowledge.
