2 The Better Your Mobility, The Better Your Work Life Balance What would you say if someone told you that your work office could be the exotic island of St. Lucia? We re willing to bet that after you picked yourself up off the floor from laughing, you d roll your eyes and sigh, Yeah, right. I wish. However, it can be. Allowing the Mobility Specialists at DMS handle your mobility needs, your office can be anywhere in the world. The Importance of Work Life Balance As the Baby Boomer generation ages, the workforce is being replaced with Generation Xers and Millennials. Due to this shift, attitudes about the workplace are changing. Eventually the Baby Boomer s strong work ethic and career oriented focus will be values of the past. Gen Xers and Millennials do not want to repeat the obvious imbalances that the Baby Boomer generation left in their home lives. Younger generations are increasingly interested in improving their life experiences and are working to live as opposed to living to work. Having a proper work life balance improves your quality of life, and believe it or not also leads to improvement in your job satisfaction.
3 Work is No Longer a Place to Go Now, back to St. Lucia. As the ability to be mobile increases in the workforce, the places to work from are quickly becoming limitless. With devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and the Internet of Things, it s much easier to jump on a plane and jet off to a different destination while having all your work related data in your pocket or suitcase. With increased mobility, work is no longer a place you go to everyday, but what you do. You are now capable of doing everything you would normally do in the office, anywhere. You re not limited to one device either. Any device with a secure Internet connection can serve as your computer, often with faster speed than your desktop device. Aside from speed and portability, being mobile can also improve communications and collaboration between your staff both in the office and in the field and help speed up your efficiency by allowing more multitasking. Oh, The Places You ll Go With increased mobility, work is no longer a place you go to everyday, but what you do. Think about all the places you would go if you struck it rich. Maybe you d go to beautiful St. Lucia. Maybe the beach isn t what you enjoy and you d rather take a shot at climbing Mt. Everest. Perhaps you wouldn t go anywhere but your own backyard, sitting on the patio and just enjoying the day. Then again, others enjoy being at the office, but may not want to sit behind their desks all day; opting to curl up on a couch in the lobby instead. With mobility, your office is no longer confined to a desk and four walls. You now have the possibility to share files, access s, and collaborate with coworkers and clients remotely whether that s in the field, your office, or from a white sandy beach clear across the world. Having mobility makes anything possible.
