Once you have decided to enrol, you will need to complete the enrolment form and send it and payment details to the IAME State Office. Once enrolled, you will be notified of the confirmation of your enrolment. You will also be sent out additional information and documentation regarding the Master Member upgrade process. You may contact any IAME office regarding any questions you may have regarding the process. 2. Documentation regarding the Master Member upgrade process On receiving the Master Member upgrade information and documentation you will need to look at the following 1. Familiarise yourself with the evidence required for the Master Member upgrade. This provides a summary and benchmark of the performance and skills associated with Master Member grade 2. The various sections of the Master Member documentation requests information and examples of the types of experiences and roles that may have provided you with the skills and knowledge required for you to be graded as a Master Member. These sections are not exhaustive you may have other experiences or aspects that are not mentioned here. Consider the experiences and evidence you have and you should be able to ask yourself the following questions: 1. How difficult will it be for me to gather the evidence? 2. Will I be able to gather sufficient evidence to be graded as a Master Member? 3. Have I had the practical and work experience required for the Master Member grade? 3. Professional Conversation with State Chief Examiner If you have any difficulty providing evidence or answering any of the information, please consult with your State Chief Examiner Once you have read all of the information and documentation and fully understand the requirements to complete the Master Member upgrade process successfully, your next step is to begin gathering and collating your evidence 4. Gathering and collation of evidence including completion of the Document Register Once you have gathered and collated all of your evidence and relevant documentation, you will need to complete the Document Register. The Document Register will cover all the evidence you are going to submit. Each piece of evidence should be given a number on the document register and relevant information filled in. The State Chief Examiner will use the Document Register to co-relate your evidence against each of the Master Member criteria. Make sure you sign and date the register to verify documentation authenticity and ownership. Once you have completed the Master Member upgrade documentation and aligned it to the Document Register and sequentially filed each piece of evidence. Contact your State Chief Examiner who will arrange to either meet with you, or send it to them, where they can go through it. The State Chief Examiner will give you feedback in a timely manner regarding the validity, sufficiency, currency and authenticity of your evidence and documentation. Version: 2.0 Document Location: (Z:)/IAME/Alignment of Divisions Revision Date: Review Date: Page: 7
8 5. Supplementary Evidence Your State Chief Examiner may request additional information and/or evidence. Candidates may use a current or past employer to provide performance verification on all or parts of your skills, knowledge and experience. This is particularly useful for the confirmation of applying your knowledge and skills against the Master Member criteria. There also may be situations where the State Chief Examiner may not have enough evidence for your Master Member upgrade. In these instances, the State Chief Examiner will inform you that despite the other evidence that you have submitted, namely, responses to the Professional Conversation, your documentation and any workplace verification report/s, the State Chief Examiner may be able to advise you doing some work tasks or activities in your workplace/organisation/simulated workplace that may assist with your upgrade. The State Chief Examiner will give you enough time to mutually arrange this in the organisation, seeking the necessary approvals if required. 6. IAME Master Member Examination (if required) After all of the above steps have been completed, the State Chief Examiner may determine that you do not have enough documentation, evidence, skills or knowledge to be deemed applicable for an upgrade to Master Member status. At this point, the State Chief Examiner may recommend that you will need to undertake the IAME Master Member Examination to verify the skills and knowledge required to meet the requirements of the Master Member Grade. The State Chief Examiner will be able to advise you on the options available to undertake the Master Member Examination and the additional costs involved.
