1 This unit has 9 learning outcomes. 1. Recognise the employer and employee statutory rights and responsibilities under Employment Law and other regulations 2. Demonstrate knowledge of the policies and procedures which recognise and protect the relationship between the employee and employer 1.1. List aspects of employment covered by law 1.2. State the main features of the different areas of legislation listed above 1.3. List the main sector specific legislation and regulation that applies to their role and their organisation 1.4. Explain the reasons why legislation exists to recognise and protect 2.1. Describe the main terms and conditions of their employment State who they should contact if they have a grievance and the procedure they would follow Describe the information shown on their pay statement 2.4. State the steps necessary for reporting discrimination or bullying at work 2.5. State any exemptions from the Sex, Race Relations or Disability Discrimination Acts that apply to their sector 2.6. Describe the process for reporting in ill Describe what they need to do if they require time off for: 1
