We at EFQM, a not-for-profit membership Foundation founded in 1989, aim to share what works, through case studies, online webinars, working groups, conferences and thematic events. Sharing our members' enthusiasm, their motivation and the results they achieve; that is what we work for. EFQM Excellence Model, a non-prescriptive framework that can be used to gain an holistic view of any organisation regardless of size, sector or maturity. Over the past 20 years, the EFQM Excellence Model has been a blueprint for EFQM members and organisations across and beyond Europe to develop a culture of excellence, access good practices, drive innovation and improve their results. EFQM is actively helping to prepare a new generation of business leaders by offering training and development opportunities built on practice-based learning and exchange between organisations. Our exchanges are underpinned by shared tools for assessment, calibrated during two decades of use within organisations and as the basis for discerning the recipients of the EFQM Excellence Award, Europe's most prestigious award for organisations.
3 To achieve sustained success, any organisation needs strong leadership and clear strategic direction. They need to develop and improve their people, partnerships and processes to deliver value-adding products and services to their customers. The EFQM Excellence Model allows people to understand the cause and effect relationships between what their organisation does (the Enablers) and the Results it achieves. The Model is non-prescriptive and can be applied to any organisation, regardless of size, sector or maturity. The EFQM Model has changed our way of working and communicating in a very significant manner. 4 Tiia Tammaru, Chairman of the Board of EAQ will introduce the renewed Estonian National Management Quality Recognition scheme Eesti Pärl (Estonian Pearl), which is now completely aligned with the Levels of Excellence in partnership with EFQM. Starting from October 2014, EAQ is going to offer EFQM assessment & development services for different types of organizations - private and public, service and manufacturing, small, medium and large organizations. The services are designed for those, who are willing to have a systematic and objective look at their management system and identify its maturity level, strengths and opportunities in a holistic and systematic way. The diagnostic assessment will be performed by teams of experienced and well-trained assessors, who provide invaluable feedback based on the EFQM Excellence Model criteria and assessment methodology. The presentation gives an overview of the assessment process, time-schedule and participation opportunities. Tauno Õunapuu, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences (EUAS) ( is going to give an overview of the Excellence Journey of the university and lessons learnt. Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences (EUAS) is a private institution of professional higher education that commenced its activities in One of the specifics of the EUAS is its network of study centers that covers the whole of Estonia and through which it offers the opportunity to obtain higher education in five Estonian towns without leaving the home place. EUAS has systematically developed its management quality for many years: EUAS has developed quality policy and a QMS, based on the requirements of ISO 9001 and the criteria of EFQM Excellence Model In 2008 EUAS was recognized by EFQM Committed to Excellence and In 2010 EUAS participated successfully in the Estonian Excellence Award competition and became recognized as Excellent Organization (complying with R4E 4 stars Eeskujulikult Juhitud Organisatsioon), being also recognized by the Jury as the best medium-sized organization. In EUAS participated in the Primus Programme run by Archimedes 'Quality Management in Higher Education Institutions' EUAS has gone through the institutional accreditation process.
5 Tani Järvinen, CEO of Laatukeskus Excellence Finland will introduce his organization, EFQM s Finnish Partner and its main activities. Laatukeskus launched Committed to Excellence Validation services on market last year and lots of experiences over the validation-process have been gathered since then. Tani will make a summary over our experiences and benefits as a validation actor. Laatukeskus was one of the three objects for Committed to Excellence 2 Star Assessment for EFQM December 2014 and reached the 2 Star Recognition. Tani will introduce practices and experiences of the assessment process as well as ways to benefit results for continuous improvement. Laatukeskus has been an active Recognised for Excellence assessment organisation for years making through dozens of assessment processes. Tani will introduce Laatukeskus practices and experiences in sales as well as assessment processes itself. He will also tell some words about customer feedback about benefiting the Recognised for Excellence. Reinis Kucers, Head of Baltic Business unit will introduce the company & business areas, while Markus Kosola, Quality Manger, will talk about Lindorff Finland s bus-journey to Excellence by using EFQM Excellence Model and Laatukeskus as a facilitator. Lindorff is a leading debt-related administrative services producing company. Lindorff used Committed to Excellence Validation as a tool in identifying strength and improvement areas as well as in recognition participants and the organization as a whole. I will also introduce how Lindorff has benefitted our systematic EFQM-based continuous improvement process, as well as next milestones (or bus-stops, as they we called in Lindorff) including some objectives and practical steps planned.
