Susan sent to Dave stating that foam will not be used in the tunnel. 10/9/2009 9/23/09 25A Find documentation showing when (and by whom) the direction was given to PB to not use foam and go to a sprinkler system. This should be done regardless of J's and Susan's conversation with Dave. (This question has come up before, and it would benefit PB to have the documentation on hand.) Gary Kile 10/21/09 REMOVED. 8 Meeting Notes PB has submitted proposed Concept of Operations report. Rob Brown has been designated. Gary Kile provided reference data, as requested, to the Fire Marshall 9/23/09. Ed Kennedy provided comments on this data on 10/7. Can any parts from TBM be repurposed in the substation? (Needs to be looked at.) It has been determined that the Utilidor is a confined space. It will be pressurized and have it's own ventilation system down there. A minimum of 4 carts (2 at each end) will be required for maintenance personnel to use.
9 Meeting Notes Jay Sims to attend next I-90 Fire Life Safety Meeting. This meeting is to avoid any surprises to Gary English at the next TFLS meeting. Fireproofing will be mandatory on the ceiling. Not mandatory for the walls, but polypropylene fibers can be added to the concrete mixture. Jay Sims spoke with his design team. Lorinda agreed that the 18" signs will work. May need to add RFP criteria for considering the life cycle costs of the lighting chosen. It is possible that the right LED technology will be available to us in Add incentives to RFP?
10 Meeting Notes There are no code requirements for using sprinklers in the tunnel, so PB needs documentation for why they are including them in the design. Answer: Owner has requested it. PB just needs this in writing. Presentation no longer needed. 24" signs have been agreed to.
