14 Project summary The next generation Autonomous and Smart Silicon ingot/block factory, based on Industry 4.0 principles. The Smart Silicon-Ingot factory is defined as a digitized factory system in which autonomous and sustainable production takes place by gathering, exchanging and using information transparently anywhere, anytime with networked interactions between man, machine, materials. 15 Main and secondary objectives 1 Autonomous crystal puller Develop next generation control system which is able to significantly increase the autonomy and to intelligently self-optimize the production of each individual puller. 2 Robotized factory Design a minimum number of high-flexibility robot system concepts for handling a large variety of handling and logistics operations on the production floor.. 3 Digitalized production planning and control Develop a concept for digital integration from shop-floor to top-floor, incorporating lean production tools and concepts in the next generation planning and control systems, based on a digital twin of the factory and its elements from a production system and logistics perspective. 4 Flexible and dynamic factory design Develop a dynamic model for capacity scalability analysis in reconfigurable manufacturing systems 15
