4 Intelligent logistics solution The s tower Various is able to store up to 1300 SMD reels. Maximum storage space on minimum area The s tower Various series is be designed to meet the requirements of a production supply depot for modern SMD production. The storage system can mount SMD reels and trays, can monitor the useful life of moisture sensitive devices (MSDs), and place them in controlled storage according to IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033C.1. The packing units can also remain in the protected drypack or outer packaging. Any materials such as PCBs, small parts, or remaining quantities can be stored for production using the SmartCarrier boxes. The SmartCarrier boxes each offer a maximum storage area of 390 mm x 390 mm x 77 mm (W/D/H). More productivity Expanded production and storage logistics through use of the s tower Various leads to increased efficiency on any production line. At the same time undesirable waiting times are reduced, error sources are avoided during the provision of components, and production costs are reduced. Multifunctional storage system s tower s are 100% compatible with one another and can be expanded on demand. The towers can be arranged and used as an interacting, central supply area or as a stand-alone line store. s tower systems combined as multifunctional storage enable the simultaneous storage and retrieval of components. 5

The system can be integrated via various interfaces such product SAP interface (IDoc), WebService, or file transfer communication in practically any production environment. Traceable processes s tower software records all of the stored products movement data and tracks both the warehouse stock and the period of use of parts as well as MSL-relevant information. The allocation of materials to the production order is also documented. Depending on access privileges, all of the stored information can be read out and passed to the tracing process. Maximum stock control The availability of components is defined according to an established traffic light scheme. The system recognizes whether the material stock is sufficient, partly lacking, or unknown, or not present. Production needs can be reserved for orders and are from then on subject to a material availability check. Minimum and maximum stocks are checked and can be passed to the main warehouse as a printout, order form, or CSV file for replenishment. Tool lists and consignment goods are managed by line. Mix-ups precluded The unique package ID ensures that mix-ups are precluded and that each part is available in the right place at the right time. If no package ID is available, an unmistakable bar-code/plain-text label can be generated via the integrated s tower Label-Designer. 6
