In this sense, the main concern is to support the transition towards a more circular economy. aims to achieve resource efficiency, sustainable waste management and sustainable consumption throughout Europe by increasing innovative public procurement through networking, capacity building, and dissemination. 7 Main Objectives - Coordination and Support Action - Overcome the fragmentation of the demand, reinforce early deployment for uptake of innovative solutions and deploy PPI on waste at larger scale. Build capacities and competences across partners through the process of preparation activities for coordinated PPI. Improve public stakeholder s market knowledge on waste innovative solutions and define their targeted improvements. Promote public-private collaboration actions towards resource efficient products and services development to accelerate final access to end-users. Increase awareness on the benefit of the adoption of coordinated innovation-oriented procurement strategies. Assessment of a feasibility plan for coordinated cross-border PPI. Info Day 20, Zagreb

10 Who is involved? 8 partners are working together under the project: Andalusian Institute of Technology (IAT-Project coordinator) ICLEI Zagreb City Holding University of Zaragoza ACR+ Mancomunidad del Sur (Madrid province) SP- Swedish Technical Research Institute Dutch Ministry for Infrastructure and Environment An Expert Group composed of key experts at European level. Areas of expertise include: Waste management Municipal waste policies Innovation for municipal waste prevention and management Public procurement of innovation practices Info Day 20, Zagreb 10

By 2017, will: Create a critical mass of procurers purchasing eco-innovative waste solutions Create new markets in the area of resource efficiency in the short and medium term Leverage additional investment in research and innovation Make a demonstrable contribution to public sector innovation and increased mobilisation of SMEs and industrial partners Move from product purchase to service delivery Info Day 20, Zagreb
