2 The Digiday Marketing & Advertising Awards Europe THE AWARDS In 2018, we are consolidating our European awards programs into two programs: The Digiday Media Awards Europe and the Digiday Marketing & Advertising Awards Europe. To guide you through the many changes and categories, Digiday s awards team has put together an entry kit so you can submit your best entries with confidence. The Digiday Marketing and Advertising Awards Europe recognize the companies working to modernize European advertising, public relations and marketing. While our other awards programs recognize companies on a global scale, the Digiday Marketing and Advertising Awards Europe showcase work specific to the European market. DEADLINES & ENTRY FEES The entry period for the Digiday Marketing & Advertising Awards Europe is approximately eight weeks in length. Early Deadline: April 13, per entry Regular Deadline: May 18, per entry Last Chance Deadline: June 8, per entry Please note: The entry fees are per category. If you enter the same campaign into multiple categories, which companies often do, you will be charged the entry fee per category. 2

3 Entry Form Questions Campaign Categories You should complete the entry form from a campaign/client standpoint. Company/industry description: Please describe the industry you serve and who the end-user client is [100 words] Campaign/platform goals: Please describe what the campaign or platform hoped to achieve [150 words] Challenges: Please describe any challenges the team had to overcome. [150 words] Results: Describe results, impact on business and ROI. Please be as specific as possible, none of the results are made public [150 words] SUPPORTING MATERIALS Company logo: This high-resolution photo of the company logo must be in.eps format. If you are an agency submitting on behalf of another company, please submit both of your logos. Campaign images: Please provide image file(s) illustrating the campaign & how it was brought to life. You may upload up to 3 files. Please note, this is optional. Sizzle reel: Please keep the sizzle reel video to under 2 minutes in length. Please note, this is optional but highly recommended. 4 Campaign Categories Best Brand/Influencer Collaboration Honoring the best collaboration between a brand and influencers to further the brand s reach, increase awareness and drive results. Best Experiential Marketing Campaign Honoring the best experiential marketing campaign by a brand or agency to connect with the consumer and encourage brand loyalty through an indoor and/or outdoor experience. Best Agency/Client Collaboration Recognizing outstanding agency-client collaboration in the development of innovative, effective and creative solutions. Best Use of Native Advertising Awarding the most outstanding use of native advertising or sponsored content across multiple platforms that engaged, informed and promoted a brand, product or service to consumers. Best Product Launch Awarding a digital campaign on at least one or more digital platforms with a purpose to launch a new brand, product or service among consumers or users. Best Brand Publication - Print and/or Digital Honoring the most outstanding print or digital magazine created by a brand for the promotion of their brand, products or services. Best Branded Content Site - B2B Awarding the most outstanding B2B content destination including, but not limited to, a blog, microsite or landing page to promote a brand, product or service to consumers. Best Branded Content Site - B2C Awarding the most outstanding consumer content destination including, but not limited to, a blog, microsite or landing page to promote a brand, product or service. Best Branded Content Series Recognizing the most outstanding ongoing, longterm branded content series created by a brand, agency or publisher. Best Social Good Campaign Awarding the best campaign to build awareness, drive donations or promote social good. Most Original Campaign Honoring the most original branded campaign that has most effectively and consistently engaged and informed an audience in a unique way. Most Original Use of Facebook Honoring the most original use of Facebook by a brand, agency or publisher using targeting technology and new platform features to promote a brand, product or service. Most Original Use of Twitter Honoring the most original use of the latest developments on Twitter, including but not limited to Twitter Moments and increased character numbers to promote a brand, product or service. Best Use of Instagram Awarding the brand, agency or publisher that has most effectively used Instagram s newest developments, including Stories and zoom capabilities, in creative storytelling and audience engagement. Best Use of Snapchat Awarding the best use of Snapchat by a brand, agency or publisher to promote a brand, product or service using Snapchat s unique features such as Discover, Live and QR codes. 4

5 Campaign Categories Best Interactive Content Piece or Series Honoring the best display of interactive content that allowed users to participate in the experience, whether it s through a survey, tool, infographic or other. Best Advertiser in Video The best brand and advertiser using digital video for branding, advertising, marketing, direct response and/or PR. Best Branding Consumer Campaign Awarding a digital branding campaign on at least one or more digital platforms with a purpose to build and enhance a brand's image and identity among consumers or users. Best Branding B2B Campaign Awarding a business-to-business digital branding campaign on at least one or more digital platforms with a purpose to build and enhance a brand's image and identity among consumers or users. Best Use of Real-Time Streaming Video Presented to the brand, agency or publisher that has used streaming platforms, such as Facebook Live, Periscope, or other, to reach its existing audience and attract new viewers. Best User-Generated Content Awarding the most effective and creative use of content generated by fans for increasing brand awareness. Most Influential Brand Community Honoring the brand with the most influential community affiliated unofficially or officially with a brand for promoting social good and/or awareness of the brand. Best Direct Response Campaign Awarding a digital direct response campaign on at least one or more digital platforms with a purpose to generate leads or directly sell a product or service. Best Use of Video Best use of video by a brand, agency or publisher to distribute content, connect with an audience and communicate messaging. Best Use of Mobile Awarding the best mobile-based advertising campaign with a purpose to deliver a brand message. Most Innovative Use of Content Awarding the most creative content marketing format, unit, or use of various forms of advertising online or across multiple platforms to promote a brand, product, or service to consumers. Most Effective/Measurable Campaign Recognizing creative work that has produced measurable and proven impact on business objectives, including but not limited to, brand equity, sales and profit, where identifiable. 5

9 Grand Prix Categories Best Creative Awarding the best use of digital canvas to deliver a powerful creative communication and engagement for a brand using one or more digital advertising platforms. Best In-House Content/Brand Studio Presented to the best in-house content studio that has consistently produced compelling content to promote a client s brand, product or service. Best Content Marketing Agency Awarded to a standalone agency for best use of written, video, social, mobile or other forms of branded content across multiple platforms to promote a client s brand, product or service to consumers. Most Innovative Agency Awarding the agency that best displays a creative approach to client briefs and excellence in client collaboration demonstrated by measurable results. Most Innovative Brand Awarding the brand that is leading the competition with original thinking in its marketing and advertising, cultural relevance and continued customer satisfaction. Best Video Advertising Agency or Partner The best advertising, media, and creative agency that develops and executes video content marketing and advertising campaigns in paid, owned and earned media. Content Marketing Team of the Year Presented to the in-house marketing team that has produced world-class campaigns and innovative marketing for the promotion of a brand, product or service. Content Marketer of the Year Honoring a leading thinker in the marketing world whose vision, innovative marketing tactics and leadership stand out amongst the competition. 9

10 FAQ We know you have questions. In this FAQ, we will answer the most common questions we receive. If your question is not answered here, please us at and we will respond as soon as we can. In this FAQ, we answer questions about: Creating your best entry Confirming your entry was received Making changes and refunds Submitting entries to multiple categories and special categories When finalists and winners will be announced How do I increase my chances of winning an award? Be sure to emphasize the goals of your campaign, as well as achievements. Provide supporting materials and specific examples of success when possible (KPIs, ROI, etc.) How do I know my entry was received? After completing your entry through our online system, you will receive an confirmation that we have received your submission(s). If you do not receive confirmation within 24 hours, please us at awards@digiday.com. Can I make changes to my entry? Yes. You can contact us at awards@digiday.com if you have any elements of an entry that need to be changed or updated. These elements will only be considered if the work has not yet been judged, or if it is has not passed the deadline date you submitted to. 10

11 FAQ Can I withdraw my entry? Will I get a refund? Once the entry has been submitted, Digiday is not liable to issue refunds for the entry fee. If for some reason you need to remove the entry from the program and do not wish to have it enter the judging process, we can allow you to re-submit the campaign (or a different entry) to one of our other awards programs. Please contact us at awards@digiday.com for further details. Can I submit the same campaign in multiple categories and awards programs? Yes! Click on "Clone Entry" at checkout and choose which additional categories you would like to submit to. There is no need to re-enter all of the campaign details, as long it falls into the same category group. For example, you can submit the same campaign into multiple campaign categories, but will need to start a new entry if you want to submit it for a Grand Prix award. Can I submit an entry to one of the Grand Prix categories as a stand alone entry? Yes, you do not have to have entered another category to be considered for any of the Grand Prix categories. When and how will finalists be notified? Finalists will be contacted by Digiday via regarding their entry, whether you have been selected for the shortlist or not. The shortlist will be announced about one week after judging closes. You can find the specific date in your confirmation from your submission. When are the winners announced? Finalists and winners will be recognized at an awards gala held in London in September, What if my company has a juror on the judges panel? Not a problem. You can still submit to the program. We recuse judges from scoring any categories that their company submits to. 11
