2 Track & Trace new requirements for the explosives industry Starting in April 2015 all European user must follow the regulation to track & trace of civil explosives. All explosives have to be registered by using an unique identifier. These also effects the usage of explosives in the oil industry. Hundreds of explosives have to be recorded for a gun. 2

3 Advantages of Track & Trace All kind of material and record data such as dates, times, comments, permits and editors can be managed by the electronic stock book, and thus company quality assurance improved. All steps can be logged and evaluated. It is possible to perform searches in different company sites simultaneously and receive an immediate overview about all items in stock. Digital and printed reports and structured overviews of the stock book shall facilitate one s work and give an outline of the shelf life and history of all products. 3

4 The times are changing! Just a few years ago, when first Track & Trace systems for explosives were implemented in Europe, barcode labeling and reading on explosives was rather unpopular. Within the last years, the former pure Track & Trace solution changed more and more into a digital logistic solution. By using this kind of solution the company s are now better able to handle the increasing of logistical challenges. Different modules help to focus on the own business needs. 4

5 Module Gun Building The Gun Building module includes the possibility of mapping the gun building process as well as the ability to manage shaped charges, boosters, and detonating cords within the gun. It unites the total process overview from gun building, gun rework to gun downloading as well as all logistic steps from the receipt process of explosives, relocation, storing up to the shipping of assembled guns. Every gun is accompanied by extensive documentation. By using software supported processes for gun documentation, the expenditure of time to create the documents can be reduced to almost zero. 5

6 Basic gun building process by using logistic software During the processes (gun building, rework, relocation and shipping) all needed documents will be generated automatically. 6

7 Stock book and Process view Within the logistic solution, the Track & Trace is only one feature. A lot of different views, filters and report generators allows to show a detailed picture about different locations, warehouses and processes. It is possible to perform searches in different company sites simultaneously and receive an immediate overview of all items in stock. This reduces time and effort to manage controlling information. Due to the precise knowledge on every single piece of explosives including their production date, charge number, assembly time, and assembling operator, the full control of the gun is guaranteed. It can be used for productivity analysis, insurance cases, and compliance requirements. 7

9 Reports The automated generation of different reports, helps to reduce the needed time for documentation to an minimum. Following some examples for a Basic GunBuilding Report (a summery of used explosives is shown), a second report with the list of items (includes all used explosives with information like NEW, barcode, article name, amount and operator. For some customer, it is necessary to define exactly which shaped charge is in which hole. The systems allows the full overview about all usable holes and shows in the report the exact placement. 9

13 Gun Rework and Gun Downloading Within the daily work, the rework of a gun or downloading a gun are normal often used processes. Both processes are part of the module and generate the related reports. This allows to follow the whole lifecycle of a gun. 13
